Magnolia lanceolata, as an indoor ornamental plant with the function of air purifier, is very popular in modern families. However, many friends have found that the yellowing of Cymbidium leaves is quite common. I am puzzled by this. In fact, it is the same for any plant, it is necessary to understand its characteristics and the main points of its cultivation.

Cymbidium is native to tropical and subtropical regions and belongs to perennial evergreen herbs. Rhizome short, with tufted cylindrical fleshy fibrous roots. Leaf blade basal, slender, hard, bright green, entire or slightly undulate. The walking stem is extracted from the foliage, a stolon is formed after flowering, and the aerial root is protruded at the internodes to send out new plants. The flower stem is slender, often taller than the foliage, and the flowers are small and white. More florets grow at the top and form racemes. Flowering in spring and summer.

The cultivation and management of Cymbidium is relatively easy. Leaves are sensitive to light, lack of light, light green or yellowish green leaves; too strong light, leaves withered yellow, and even death. It is suitable to grow at about 20 ℃. In the growing season, it is necessary to fully water, maintain the humidity of the basin soil, spray water to the leaves in high temperature weather, and reduce the amount of watering and watering times in winter. It is very easy to propagate separately from the roots of the old plants in early spring, or to cut off the larvae from the stolons and plant them in the soil in any season of the year. Change the basin once a year in early spring, trim and remove the excess fibrous roots, replant it in the pot with well-drained rotten leaf soil, first place in a hidden place, wait for the plant to resume growth, and move to a suitable position. In the vigorous growth season in summer, dilute liquid fertilizer is applied every 15 days, and the foliar surface is often sprayed with water equal to room temperature.

Magnolia is quite easy to grow and raise plants, the emergence of yellowing leaves, mainly from the following situations.

1. Applying too much fertilizer exceeds the requirement of the plant.

At the beginning, the leaves were shiny and uneven, the roots rotted and the leaves were yellow. Should stop fertilizing, irrigate more water, or turn the pot to clean the root and replace the new soil.

2. The basin has not been turned over for a long time.

The various nutrient elements in the basin soil have been exhausted, the three elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium have not been replenished in time, the plant is lack of nutrients, and the leaves are yellow and thin. Fertile loam and fertile water should be replaced in time.

3. Insufficient sunlight exposure

Although the orchid is a semi-negative flower, at least four hours of astigmatism should be seen every day, otherwise the chlorophyll will decrease and the leaves will turn yellow.

4. poor air permeability and water permeability of basin soil.

The long-term accumulation of water in the basin soil makes it difficult for the root system to breathe, which leads to the yellowing of the leaves. The soil should be loosened and moisture should be controlled in time. Fifth, it is impervious to water for a long time. The roots of Cymbidium lose water, and the lower old leaves turn yellow. It should be watered thoroughly to keep the basin soil warm and moist.

When planting and raising Cymbidium, pay attention to avoid the above-mentioned factors that cause leaf yellowing, and fertilize, change pots and spray water according to the habits of Cymbidium, which is believed to be effective in preventing the yellowing of leaves.
