Fennel, formerly known as Xiaohuaixiang, also known as coriander, cumin, its stems and leaves can be eaten as vegetables, and its fruit can be eaten as spices, which is the common cumin in our life. Fennel is often used to sow seeds when planting, but when planting, you want to improve the germination rate of seeds, just like promoting germination and nursery seedlings. Let's take a look at the detailed introduction with the editor below.

1. Seed selection

There are many varieties of fennel. Good varieties should be selected according to local climate, soil and cultivation purpose. It is suggested that the varieties with strong disease resistance and high yield should be selected. Choose full-grained fennel seeds, wash the impurities on the surface with clean water, and then remove them and set aside.

2. Prepare the seedbed

Select a land with deep soil layer, loose and fertile soil and good drainage as a seedbed, the plot does not need to be too much, 10-15 square meters can be deeply ploughed and leveled, and the soil can be disinfected under certain conditions to eliminate germs and underground pests. In order to ensure adequate nutrient growth of fennel seedlings, high-quality farm manure with complete maturity can be applied per square meter as base fertilizer, which can promote rapid seedling emergence and growth.

3. Soaking seeds to accelerate germination

Soak the cleaned seeds in warm water of about 55 degrees for 12 hours. after they are fully absorbed, rub them repeatedly with your hands, separate them, remove them, rinse with clean water and then sprout. Put the seeds in gauze bags, put them in an environment of 20-22 degrees, and rinse them with warm water 1-2 times a day, so that after about a week, the seeds can germinate and sow and raise seedlings.

4. Raising seedlings

Before sowing, the seedling bed should be watered thoroughly, mix the budding and fine sand evenly, then sow it on the seedling bed and cover a layer of fine soil 1 cm thick. Spring sowing should raise seedlings in the greenhouse, and summer sowing should do a good job of shading and avoiding the sun, in order to cool and moisturize. Generally, the seedlings can break the soil after sowing for a week. At this time, it should be timely and slow, and small water irrigation should be adopted to keep the soil moist, and when the seedlings grow to 5-6 true leaves, they can be transplanted to the field.
