The survival rate of Cymbidium is high, and the growth rate is fast, so transplanting Cymbidium often becomes a work of family cultivation. So, the method of transplanting hanging orchids? This paper intends to introduce the transplanting methods of hydroponic orchids and soil-grown orchids respectively, which can be used as a reference for those who need to plant orchids in pots or newly planted and cultivated.

Whether it is planting and raising Cymbidium for a long time, it needs to be changed, divided, or newly planted and raised, it is inseparable from the step of transplanting Cymbidium.

I. Transplantation of hydroponic orchids

The main results are as follows: 1. Hydroponic Cymbidium had better choose the aerial root of the plant on the stolon to plant, because the aerial root on the walking stem is very suitable for hydroponic environment and easy to manage, and the root system can sprout in about 5 days. When the orchid is in hydroponics, it is appropriate to choose the variety of green leaves, and it is more difficult to operate it.

2. Container bottles can be single-layer or double-layer. Single-layer bottles are made of plastic bottles without bottom holes or ceramic bottles without bottom holes. The double-layer bottle takes the plastic screen as the upper layer, and the lower bottle is a bottomless bottle. Plant the orchid in the upper plastic screen and let the root of the hanging orchid droop in the bottle.

3. Remove the potted or ground-planted orchid from the pot or dig it up from the ground, remove the soil from its root, wash its root with clean water, cut off the old root and rotten root, leave the fibrous root, cut off part of the leaves, leaving strong leaves, generally leaving 6 to 10 leaves.

4. the pot method of single-layer bottle is to insert the treated hanging orchid into the bottle, fasten the bottle mouth with a sponge and insert a plastic straw, which is used for transporting water. Let the orchid plant stand upright, fill the bottle with water and flower nutrient solution, and let the root of the orchid grow in water.

5. The double-layer bottle cultivation method is to plant the orchid plant on a plastic sieve, and the root passes through the small hole of the plastic sieve into the lower bottle. The sieve is filled with pottery or stone rice to make the orchid stand upright, and the lower bottle is filled with clear water and flower nutrient solution. After potting, put the orchid indoors or in a cool place for management.

II. Transplanting of soil-planted Cymbidium

1. In order to transplant new branches, first of all, there must be a main branch with exuberant growth and many branches. Prepare a pair of scissors, flowerpot, soil, use a shovel to break up the soil, the right amount of water.

2. Cut off the vigorous new branches on the stems with scissors. It is better to have roots, so that the survival rate is higher.

3. Soil preparation. If it is only soil, it is easy to harden, it is recommended to add a small amount of sand before use, not too much, just grab it by hand about three times, add nearly half a pot of soil, add some water, (flowerpots usually have small holes at the bottom, if your soil is particularly fine, it is recommended to pad a very thin paper in the bottom layer, or put a larger piece of soil on the bottom layer)

4. after adding a little more soil, hold the orchid by hand and slowly add soil on the edge until the flowerpot is close to the flowerpot noodle. Add some more water. Remember to water regularly.

Cymbidium is easy to survive, as long as the method is right, in general, whether hydroponic culture or soil culture, the success rate of transplantation is quite high. Interested friends might as well give it a try.
