The climate in the north is changeable, which will affect the cultivation of plants. Some friends in the north said that they encountered a lot of difficulties when breeding Anthurium. How to breed Anthurium in the north? The next small series will introduce the tips of breeding red anthurium in the north.

The northern part of the red palm cultivation tips

The temperature suitable for the growth of Anthurium andraeanum is 25℃ to 28℃ during the day and 18℃ to 22℃ at night, but the outdoor temperature is higher in early autumn; the greenhouse temperature rises rapidly, and the temperature control is mainly to cool down during the day and keep warm at night. Daytime cooling has basically no fan, mainly with skylights, everted windows, shade nets and so on to control. Usually, when the temperature exceeds 25℃ in the morning, open the skylight and turn over the window to cool down first; when the temperature exceeds 30℃, the fan and wet curtain can be used to cool down; in order to prevent severe cooling, the fan cannot be fully opened at this time, and only one group or two groups of fans should be opened according to the temperature.

In autumn, the temperature difference between morning and evening is large, and all the insulation facilities of greenhouse should be activated at night to maintain the temperature of greenhouse at night. For this reason, the temperature should be collected as soon as possible in the afternoon. When the temperature is lower than 25℃, close the skylight, turn out the window, close the outer shade net and unfold the inner insulation curtain. In late autumn, the greenhouse temperature will not be very high during the day, but at noon on sunny days, skylights should also be opened and everted windows should be ventilated. When the lowest outdoor temperature is lower than 15℃, it should start heating at night. In rainy days, when the daytime temperature is lower than 20℃, it should be appropriately heated to increase temperature and reduce humidity. In the process of temperature control, attention should be paid to the rise and fall of temperature should not be too intense.

Light In the process of growth, the light intensity required by Anthurium is 10,000 lux to 18,000 lux. Insufficient light is easy to cause bud abortion, bract blackening, affecting the growth rate. If the light is too strong, it will cause the leaves and bracts to fade and even burn; therefore, the success of light management is directly related to the quality of potted flowers and the number of flowers. Early autumn illumination time is longer and intensity is larger, a little carelessness will burn the leaves of Anthurium andraeanum, especially seedlings, and affect the color, illumination control is basically the same as summer, using double-layer shading net for shading.

After the Mid-Autumn Festival, the illumination time gradually shortens, and the intensity gradually weakens. Generally, the inner shading net with low shade degree is used first in the morning. When the illumination gradually increases, the outer shading net can be activated and the expansion width of the outer shading net can be gradually increased. This is conducive to the gradual rise of temperature. When the afternoon light gradually weakens, keep the inner net still and gradually close the outer shade net, so that the light will not be too strong, the temperature will drop slowly, which is conducive to maintaining the night temperature of the greenhouse, and the rest of the time should be properly shaded. Cloudy days should be closed all shade nets, as far as possible to make sufficient light. Special attention should be paid to the fact that after a long period of continuous rain, when the weather suddenly turns clear, the greenhouse temperature rises sharply, the light increases sharply, and the plants are more likely to burn. At this time, shade should be covered as early as possible, so that the plants have an adaptation process.

Humidity is higher in early autumn, humidity should also be higher, the general temperature is 25℃ to 28℃, humidity should be controlled between 70% and 80%; temperature is higher than 28℃, humidity should be greater than 80%. Air humidity can be increased by spraying systems and floor sprinklers. When increasing the humidity of the air, do not spray too much water on the leaves at high temperatures. Spraying is best done between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and follows the principle of small and multiple times, each time without forming small droplets on the leaves. In order to ensure that the humidity at night is not too high (not more than 90%), the humidity can be appropriately reduced after 3 p.m., and it can be maintained between 60% and 70%.

The main diseases and insect pests of Anthurium andraeanum are bacterial blight, leaf spot, root rot, anthracnose, red spider, aphid, thrips, lepidopteran pests, etc., which can be controlled by spraying agricultural streptomycin, neophytin, ruining and emile. Generally, spray once every 7 to 10 days, and replace the pesticide after spraying 2 to 3 times. Application should also be done between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to ensure that plants are dry overnight.

The above is the tip of breeding red anthurium in the north introduced by Xiaobian. I believe that friends also have a certain understanding, plant farming is really not easy, to carefully cultivate in order to let them grow healthily. I hope this article helps you.
