Hairy leaf lotus palm, also known as ink dye. Like warm, dry and sunny environment. Not cold-resistant, drought-resistant, but afraid of high temperature. Sandy loam with good drainage and ventilation is required. The winter temperature is not lower than 6 ℃.

Breed. It is often used to cut and sow and propagate. Leaf and stem cuttings are available for rooting about 3-4 weeks after cuttage. The seeds are small, sown indoors in spring and germinate 11-14 days after sowing. The seedlings grow slowly and need to be cultivated for 3-4 years to flowering.

Cultivation. The hairy leaf lotus palm should be warm in winter and cool in summer. Watering during the growing period should not be much, and stagnant water and rain must be avoided. Keep dry, such as high humidity, lack of light, leaves are easy to grow. The summer dormancy period should be kept semi-overcast and ventilated. Spray more water to keep the air temperature high. During the peak growth period in autumn, fertilize once a month. Winter requires plenty of sunshine, the temperature should not be too high, to maintain 10 ℃ is the best.

Diseases and insect pests. If there is harm to leaf spot and scab, it can be sprayed with 2000 times of 50% verapamil wettable powder. Pests are harmful to whiteflies and black weevil, which are sprayed with 1000 times of omethoate EC.

Application. Hairy leaf lotus palm plant 20-30 cm high, luxuriant branches and leaves, evergreen all the year round. Potted plants are suitable for decorating halls and rooms, which are particularly attractive.
