Can aloe leaves be planted? Friends who want to grow aloe may ask such questions. This actually involves the breeding method of aloe. So, what are the methods of reproduction of aloe? This paper intends to make a brief introduction to this problem, which can be used as a reference for those who plan to plant aloe.

There are three main propagation methods of aloe.

1. Cuttings

The branch from the stem or main stem is mainly derived from the branch with 4-6 leaves and 6-10 cm high. The top of the main stem can also be cut off 10-15 cm for cuttings. Cuttings can not be inserted immediately after cutting, otherwise it is easy to rot from the incision. it is usually placed for 3-5 days after cutting, and then planted after the incision is fully dried. There is a certain relationship between the size of cuttings and rooting, generally with 6-10 cm branches, short rooting time, high survival rate and easy management.

2. Meristem reproduction

Meristem propagation is to separate and plant the short branches (botanically called sucking buds) that grow between the axils of stems and leaves on the rhizosphere of aloe and near the surface of the potted soil, which can be transplanted or directly peeled off in situ to wait for their roots to move. Meristem propagation can be carried out in the whole growing period of aloe, but the temperature conditions in spring and autumn are the most suitable. When meristem propagation is carried out, aloe seedlings turn green faster and the survival rate is high.

3. Cuttage propagation

In the growing period of aloe, the main stem or side branches are used as cuttings for cuttings. When inserting aloe, make sure that the wound of aloe is dry, so as to avoid infection. Wait for it to take root before watering it. Before that, you can spray water like basin soil and keep it moist. In addition, the treatment of aloe seedlings after drying with rooting agent can improve the survival rate of seedlings and take root earlier.

Obviously, from the above-mentioned main methods of aloe reproduction, it is impossible to grow aloe leaves alive. Either way, the branching of aloe needs to be used as a source of reproduction.
