Chicken is one of the main poultry in China, and its chicken and eggs have a very big market in our country. The chicken industry is also a major project in the development of China's breeding industry, and now there are many methods of raising chickens. Free-range breeding is a common way of raising chickens, and the meat of free-range chickens is taut and chewy, which is very popular. So how to raise free-range chickens? The following editor has brought you the breeding methods of free-range chickens, let's have a look!

1. Select species and build houses

Free-range chicken breeds are generally mainly native chicken, because the local chicken has high market demand, strong growth ability and strong disease resistance. After selecting the chicken breed, we should do a good job in the construction of the chicken coop, which should be built in a place with convenient transportation, leeward, adequate light and normal drainage and irrigation. This kind of place is not only conducive to the growth of chickens, but also convenient for raising work. The chicken coop should do a good job in the planning of the lounge and playground. Then it is necessary to prepare sinks, food troughs and temperature control facilities to reasonably regulate the breeding environment and promote the growth of chickens.

2. Raising chicks

The chick period is within two months after coming out of the shell, when the chicken is relatively fragile, and the survival rate is lower in the first ten days. The temperature requirements of chicks are relatively strict, so we must first control the temperature. The temperature demand of chicks will change with the increase of age. In the first three days, the temperature needs to be controlled at about 35 degrees, and then reduced by about one degree every three days, until the temperature is stabilized at about 25 degrees in a month or so. Then it is necessary to strengthen the management of the chicks, control the breeding density according to the day age, and control the light well, keep the light day and night within a month, and reduce the daily light time appropriately after a month.

3. Raising young chickens

Youth is the fastest time for chickens to grow, which is within three months after the rearing period. Usually by the time of 4 months, its body size is getting closer to that of an adult chicken. In general, young chickens should be fed in the house, and the water trough should be prepared in the house, and then the roof should be slanted to prevent rain and leakage. When feeding young chickens, male and female should be raised separately to prevent strong phenomena. According to the age to control the daily feeding time, usually 2-3 months of chickens need to be fed about three times a day. Then it can be reduced once after 3 months. If it is a breeder, then do not feed too much each time to avoid eating too much, resulting in delayed laying period and affecting egg production.

4. Disease prevention and treatment

The common diseases of free-range chickens are colibacillosis, trichomoniasis and so on. These diseases do great harm to the growth of chickens, which will greatly increase the mortality of chickens and affect the efficiency of breeding. We should do a good job in the hygiene of the chicken house, remove chicken droppings regularly every day, strengthen management, disinfect the chicken house regularly, and do a good job of ventilation. Then we should pay attention to not feeding deteriorated feed and drinking water, and control the breeding density. Often observe the growth of chickens, when there is an abnormal situation, it is necessary to timely isolation, check the specific situation, and then symptomatic treatment.

The above is a brief introduction to the breeding methods of free-range chickens, which we have used for a long time. It can effectively improve the laying rate and meat quality of chickens, and improve the efficiency of breeding. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
