Safflower gentian flowers into an ancient bell-shaped or funnel-shaped, gentian blooming in clusters, swaying in the wind, showing a kind of elegant, quiet beauty, many people like it very much. Then how does safflower gentian reproduce? How to control common diseases and insect pests?

1. Propagation methods of safflower gentian

1. Sowing and reproduction: spring sowing is suitable from mid-April to mid-May. 1-3 days before sowing, the seeds are soaked in aqueous solution after dissolving gibberellin with a small amount of alcohol for 12 hours, then wash the seeds with a cloth bag until they are not running. Then soak the seeds with 3% potassium nitrate aqueous solution at room temperature for 3 hours, rinse with clean water until the water is colorless, and control the effluent. According to the volume ratio of fine sand to seeds at 3:1, the seeds were mixed to be sown. Spread the treated seeds evenly on the finished border surface, then flatten the border surface with a wooden board or spade, so that the seeds are closely combined with the soil, and cover the border surface with a layer of long pine needles or straw, the thickness is similar to open field rather than open field, about 12 meters. It is better to sow early, so that the seedlings have enough growth time, the big roots of the seedlings are thick, and the overwintering buds are sturdy, which is beneficial to improve the survival rate of transplanting and form sturdy tiger winter buds.

2. Split-root propagation: dig out the underground root and rhizome in autumn, be careful not to damage the winter bud, cut the rhizome into more than three segments, bury the fibrous root in the soil, cover the soil, keep the soil moist, and grow into new plants in the second year. Spray new high-fat film to protect the growth of grain seedlings.

3. Cuttage propagation: the branches of adult plants are cut before flower bud differentiation, and the lower leaves are cut off. The lower leaves are cut off and placed on the pre-prepared seedling bed and watered immediately. The soil temperature of 18-28 ℃ can take root for about 3 weeks, and the survival rate is about 80%.

II. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests of safflower gentian

1. Spot blight: it is a serious disease harmful to gentian. 65% mancozeb 400-500 times liquid is sprayed every 5-7 days from early June to mid-June, and 300 times liquid mancozeb is sprayed 3-5 days from mid-June to October. It can also be used alternately with mancozeb for 3-5 days with 50% carbendazim 400 times liquid.

2. Mole cricket: mole cricket is harmful under the mulch of the border after sowing, stir-fry the wheat bran, mix the wheat bran with 90% trichlorfon or dimethoate 15 times liquid, put a pile on the border, trap and kill. Poison bait is about 4-5 kilograms per mu.

3. Quenching disease: the disease is caused by fungi. The disease condition is that the susceptible plants appear water stains on the leaves, lodge in pieces, die 5-8 days later, the humidity is too high, the planting density is too high and the disease is serious. Fungicides such as 65% mancozeb 500 times solution or carbendazim can be used for control.

4. Leaf rot: the causes and symptoms of leaf rot are wilting of susceptible leaves, gradual blackening and decay, and rotting of edge roots in heavy cases. High temperature and humidity are conducive to the disease. Watering was suspended after the onset of the disease, and the disease area was irrigated with 800 times of methyl topiramate or 1500 times of carbendazim. Before the onset of the disease, 700-800 times liquid carbendazim or 500 times liquid mancozeb were sprayed on the leaf to prevent the disease.
