Most people raise aloe vera, will use potted way, raise aloe vera directly in the pot as a potted plant, save trouble and can give aloe a good growth environment. It is OK to raise aloe vera in pots, but you also need to know some matters needing attention.

1. Soil: the basin soil for cultivating aloe vera should have good properties of drainage, water retention, air permeability and fertilizer storage. The soil with poor drainage permeability will cause root respiration obstruction and rotten root necrosis, but excessive sandy soil will often cause the loss of water and nutrients and make aloe grow poorly. The commonly used formula of basin soil is: the proportion of humus, garden loam and river sand is 2:2:1, and sawdust or cooked coal ash can also be used instead of river sand. In addition, the basin soil is required to be relatively clean and sanitary, and the soil can be sterilized and sterilized before planting.

two。 Selection of pots: potted aloe had better use mud pots, not porcelain pots and plastic pots, because of poor air permeability and perishable roots. It should be soaked with water before using the new basin, otherwise it is not easy to infiltrate the basin after watering, and the semi-dry and semi-wet basin wall will hurt the new roots.

3. Seedling selection: seedling selection is also the key to aloe breeding. Robust aloe seedlings should have short and thick leaves, dark green color, and self-rooting with more than four roots.

4. Upper basin: the upper basin should carry the seeds into the basin in spring and summer, but not in winter. The temperature is too low, which is not conducive to the occurrence of new roots. Before putting on the basin, you can put a broken tile at the bottom of the basin and press it on the water hole at the bottom of the basin, which can not only keep the drainage, but also will not leak out the basin soil. When potting, first straighten the aloe seedlings in the center of the basin and stretch the roots as far as possible. after filling the roots, gently lift the seedlings upward and compact them slightly, so that the roots are in close contact with the basin soil. then add the basin soil to keep 2'3 cm with the edge of the basin, and pay attention to straighten the seedling as far as possible. Finally, slowly pour water into the basin.

It is worth noting that aloe just on the pot do not let direct sunlight, in order to avoid water loss and excessive consumption of nutrients, it is appropriate to keep in the semi-shade, wait for the seedlings to take root before you can shine more sunshine.

5. Change the basin: potted aloe culture generally needs to change the pot once every two years, and it is better to change the basin from April to May in spring and September to October in autumn. Keep the soil mass intact when changing the basin and try not to damage the root system. After changing the basin, you still need to keep it in a semi-shady place for a period of time, and then move to a sunny place for maintenance after completely slowing down the seedlings.

Aloe potted plant matters needing attention are these, in addition to potted aloe can also use other ways, no matter which way aloe is cultured, then the method is about the same. If you want to make aloe grow well, you can study in advance the culture method that is most beneficial to its growth.
