For rich trees, there are two main pests: red spiders and shell insects. So, what is a golden needle worm? Why do rich trees also have golden needle pests? What are the key points in the prevention and control of golden needle pests in rich trees? This paper intends to make a brief introduction to the above-mentioned series of problems.

Strictly speaking, the golden needle pest is not exclusive to the rich tree. Golden needle beetle is the larva of kowtow beetle, which is a pest hidden in the soil. Its harmful objects are all kinds of herbs, shrubs and ornamental seedlings, which mainly harm the buds and seeds of corn, tobacco and traditional Chinese medicine. The larvae feed on the seeds planted in the soil, the small buds sprouted, the roots of the flower seedlings, can bite off the newly unearthed seedlings, and can also drill into the roots of the grown seedlings to feed, the injured part is not completely bitten off, and the fracture is irregular. The consequence is that the plants wither and die, the seedlings break ridges, and in serious cases, all the seeds are destroyed.

The characteristics of its occurrence are as follows: the golden needle worm overwinters as adults or larvae in the soil at the depth of 20 mi / 40 cm, and begins to be unearthed in the first and middle March of the following year, causing damage to early-sowing crops, with the most serious damage from April to May. The adults lie dormant during the day and come out at night, and there is a false death. Under the strong smell of decaying fermentation and rotten haystacks and soil, each female can lay 30Mel 35 eggs. The larvae are resistant to low temperature, so they rise early in spring. When the soil temperature is 17C °, the soil water content of 15% is the most suitable, and the occurrence of sandy soil is heavier.

I. Agricultural prevention and control

Flood and drought rotation can be carried out in ① areas with favorable conditions.

② intensive ploughing, deep ploughing and multiple harrowing, killing insect sources

③ heap cover farm manure with film cover fully mature to prevent adult golden needle worms from laying eggs in the dung pile.

II. Chemical control

① poisonous soil: use 50% phoxim EC 100ml plus 0.5kg or 25% phoxim microcapsule sustained-release agent per mu before sowing, mix 2kg per mu into sifted fine dry soil and mix 20kg well.

② poison bait: at seedling stage, 0.5kg of trichlorfon and 5 kg of water can be mixed with an appropriate amount of fried wheat bran (20kg of wheat bran per mu) or bean cake to make poison bait. Sprinkle it into the base of the seedling in the evening, and make use of the habit of underground pests to go out during the day and night. (it is recommended to choose this method when the population density is high and the harm is serious).

③ irrigation: 50% phoxim EC 100ml / mu mixed with water 100kg irrigation.

Although the golden needle bug is not the main pest of the rich tree, it can be seen from the above introduction that it does great harm to the growth of the rich tree. Therefore, after discovering this kind of insect pest, we must control it in time.
