The planting of asparagus can be divided into two ways: sowing and ramet. Among them, sowing is to cultivate with seeds. So, what are the seeds of asparagus? How to plant asparagus seeds? How to peel asparagus seeds? This paper intends to make a brief introduction to this kind of problem.

Asparagus, also known as Pinus elliottii, Pinus elliottii, Phyllostachys pubescens, is a perennial evergreen vine foliage plant, a famous ornamental plant. Asparagus (Asparagus plumosus Baker), a plant of the genus Liliaceae, is used as a root medicine to treat acute tracheitis and cough, and has the function of moistening the lung. It is mainly used to observe leaves in potted plants, and it is also an important leaf-cutting material.

So, how should asparagus be planted by sowing?

Asparagus can be cultivated by sowing and ramet cultivation. This paper focuses on the cultivation methods of sowing.

The seeds of asparagus mature from December to April of the following year, and the mature berries are purplish red. When the fruit changes color, the seeds should be harvested in time, and the seed coat should be removed, the seeds should be dried, and then sowed on the substrate of the same amount of river sand and rotten leaf soil, covered with soil (not too thick), watered thoroughly and kept moist. It can germinate in about one month at the temperature of 20-30 ℃. When the seedling height is above 5cm, it can be transplanted into a small pot. Generally speaking, the plants of 3 ~ 5 years old grow thickly and can be propagated separately. Ramet is generally carried out in spring, with a sharp knife to divide the tufted stems and roots into 2-3 clumps, so that each clump contains 3-5 buds, and then planted in the pot. When ramet, damage the root system as little as possible, and pay attention to moisturizing and shading after ramet.

As a result, it is known that the seeds of asparagus, that is, the berries mentioned above are purplish red, which is a sign that asparagus seeds can be harvested. As the outer skin of plant seeds is relatively hard, directly germinated through blisters, or directly sprinkled into the soil, it may be relatively slow, or even difficult to germinate, so it is generally necessary to remove the outer skin to directly absorb nutrients to germinate quickly.

In fact, the peeling way of asparagus seeds is very simple: after berries are harvested, rub the exocarp to remove the seeds.

The seeds are peeled, rinsed and then sown. It should be noted that, if the room temperature is less than 15 ℃, it should wait until the spring is warm before sowing, during which sand storage, sowing, indoor pot sowing, generally sowing in the shallow basin, grain spacing of two meters, covering the soil should not be too deep, soaked in water with glass or film cover, in order to reduce water evaporation, keep the basin soil moist, placed in a sunny place. The temperature after sowing is about 20 ℃, generally speaking, it can germinate in 25-30 days, but it takes 30-40 days to germinate at 15-18 ℃.

Obviously, you can't see the seed until you rub the skin off. If there is no peeling, it may be one of the reasons why many asparagus sowers complain that asparagus seeds do not germinate.
