It takes 8 years for the rich tree to blossom and bear fruit. In order to shorten this process, many people use the method of grafting to reproduce, which can blossom and bear fruit in the second year, and the stem base is strong, and can achieve the purpose of dwarfing the rich tree. Let's take a look at the specific methods!

Grafting method of rich tree

Rootstock and scion

Rootstocks and scions of rich trees

The rootstock selects the 2-year-old rich tree seedlings with braided warp braids, and the scion is an one-year-old strong branch on the mother tree which has already blossomed and fruited.

Grafting time

Grafting is usually carried out in the middle of February every year, and the splitting method is used.

Concrete method

Make a fortune and make a strong branch

Select the robust branches and leaves, leave 1 or 2 buds, and cut one knife obliquely on each side of the lower end of the bud to make the cutting surface into a positive wedge.

The rootstock is truncated from 40 meters above the ground and cut vertically and longitudinally in the middle of the section, the length of which is equal to that of the scion.

Rich tree grafting

Insert the scion into the slit of the rootstock. It should be noted here that if the rootstock is larger than the scion, the scion can lean to one side so that the two are aligned.

After that, fasten it with a film tape and invert a film bag to prevent Rain Water from getting wet. The new buds can grow in about 1 month and the bagging and banding can be removed at this time.

Post-grafting maintenance

Rich trees like warm and humid environment, sunny, slightly shady environment. But within 1-2 weeks of grafting, ensure that the air is relatively dry, less watering, and so on normal maintenance after germination.

After growing leaves, it is better to move the plants to light for conservation, often spraying water to the leaves to maintain high humidity. Water more in growing season and less in winter.
