How to keep the bulbs after the flowering period of hyacinth

Dig the ball

Before and after digging the ball should be properly watered to keep the basin soil relatively moist and easy to get the ball. After taking out the ball, remove the excess soil, remove the aging rhizome, and leave it in the shade for a few days.

Disinfection

Soak hyacinth seed balls

As a necessary step in disinfection before bagging and storage, there will be a large number of bacteria in humus soil for a long time. Soak in carbendazim solution for 40 minutes and dry naturally.

Hang or refrigerate

After disinfection and drying, the seed balls are directly bagged and hung in a cool place. Be careful not to hurt the epidermis of the bulbs and look at them once a week. Or directly wrap the seed ball in a newspaper and put it in the refrigerator.

Matters needing attention

Seed balls are usually dug out for storage in June, and the temperature hanging in the shade is 20-25 ℃. Of course, the summer temperature is too high, as long as it is kept in a cool place and properly ventilated, there should be no problem.

Many flower lovers will also choose cold storage, the purpose of cold storage is to promote flowers, note that after the ball in June can not be refrigerated immediately, after two months of room temperature preservation, put in the refrigerator in August, the temperature is controlled at 2-5 degrees.

When dealing with the bulb, do not hurt the root system, so as not to affect the growth again.
