Common diseases of Cymbidium

Several common diseases of Magnolia are: White silk disease, soft rot, anthrax and so on.

White silk disease

When the disease occurs, the stem near the root will appear irregular disease spots, the epidermis is soft, and then there are many white hyphae, gradually expanding, spreading the whole plant.

Prevention and control methods:

Disinfect the culture soil before putting it on the pot. To make it simple, you can put the culture soil in an environment of 60 ℃ for 24 hours. (it seems a little difficult to operate at home, so let's disinfect it directly.) often observe and find that the diseased leaves are immediately cut off and disinfected with lime powder.

At the initial stage of the disease, it should be irrigated with carbendazim powder once a week, 2-3 times.

Soft rot

When the disease occurs, there are yellowish spots on the leaves, soft rot of the plants, and bacterial fluid flow out of the disease spots.

Prevention and control methods:

Once the diseased plant is found, pull out the diseased plant immediately and get rid of it thoroughly. Cut off the rotten parts with a disinfection knife, give proper light and keep ventilated.

If the rot is worse, remove the diseased tissue directly, soak it with potassium permanganate solution for 1 hour, then rinse with clean water to dry, smear the plant ash at the cut, and change the pot to plant.

Anthrax

It often occurs in the humid and muggy season, and the disease site is the leaf tip and the edge of the leaf. In the early stage, the leaves appeared brown spots and gradually expanded, but in the later stage, the plants shrunk and withered.

Prevention and control methods:

Properly water the flowerpot in a well-ventilated and well-lit environment to keep the soil moist. Appropriate topdressing of phosphorus and potash fertilizer. The suitable growth environment and healthy growth of the plant will reduce the probability of disease.

Once it is found that the plant is sick, immediately spray with 800 times the solution of carbendazim, once every 6 days, 3: 5 can be effective. Be sure to find early treatment!
