The time of insertion:

If you use hydroponics, you can do it all year round, because if you put it indoors, you can create an environment and temperature. the best time is from early June to early August and from early October to mid-November. these two periods are called summer planting and autumn planting respectively, and the summer and autumn planting temperature is relatively high, so it is easy to root, but it is not so good in winter. The tools you need: a container for water (cups, any bottles and cans, well, mineral water bottles), preferably transparent glass, so that you can see the clarity of the water so that it can be changed at any time. The growth of the root can be observed. If the container can be placed in a bottle like a flower arrangement, if there are too few, it needs to be fixed.

Select branches:

This step is actually the most important, this step is done, half of the success, gardenia branches to choose 1-2-year-old branches, too young easy to rot, too old and not easy to root. The most basic condition is that the skin is bright green, pest-free and strong: there are many kinds of gardenia. The common gardenia flowers are "big gardenia", "egg leaf gardenia", "lobular gardenia", "narrow leaf gardenia", "spotted leaf gardenia" and so on. I personally prefer "big flower gardenia", the flowers are large and white, and the aroma is rich. So I chose two-year-old gardenia branches from a pile of middle-aged and young gardenia trees with fragrant flowers. It is suggested to choose a few more branches to cultivate in water together.

Procedure:

The selected branches generally have three nodes, the leaves on the bottommost nodes are removed, and only 1-2 leaves are left on the upper two nodes, which reduces transpiration and is conducive to photosynthesis. if the branches are selected in the middle section, the upper section is cut flat by 1-2 cm. The root system begins to grow from an oblique cut. Insert the cut branches into the prepared bottle. As it is hydroponic, it is not necessary to consider the cultivation medium, just put clear water in the container and replace it at any time to avoid incision decay.

Planting gardenia is a way to plant gardenia and cultivate gardenia. It is worth noting that it is better to choose old branches of gardenia jasminoides, preferably branches of more than one to two years. The success rate of such cuttings will be much higher than that of twigs.
