Anthurium is a suitable hydroponic plant, perhaps because hydroponic anthurium can not only view flowers and leaves, but also view roots, so many families like hydroponic anthurium. However, you can know that there are many essentials for the hydroponics of Anthurium. Grasping the essentials can make the hydroponics of Anthurium bright and colorful.

The key to hydroponics is water, but its growth environment is also very important.

1. Flower planting container

Clear glass containers.

2. Water content of flower planting container

The root system is aerial root, 1/2 of the flower planting container, so that there is some air left in the upper part of the root system, and the growth point of the aerial root seems to be exposed in the water.

3. Root treatment

1) Remove the soil from the roots and rinse with water several times until the white roots are exposed. The action should be gentle to avoid damaging the roots;

2) Soak the roots in clean water for about 2 hours;

3) prune the roots that are too long and withered;

4) Healthy and virus-free Anthurium andraeanum plants should be selected, sterilized with agricultural streptomycin, and then domesticated with flower nutrient solution;

5) The roots of hydroponic plants grow exposed to light, and the plant cells have photosynthesis after exposure to light, and the roots are the same. Green is normal. As long as it is not direct sunlight, it usually ensures healthy root growth. Not all hydroponic plants have healthy roots that eventually turn green. For example, some are brown.

4. Temperature

Anthurium is extremely sensitive to temperature. Sudden fluctuations in temperature are extremely detrimental to the growth of Anthurium. The most suitable temperature: 19~25 degrees; the lowest limit temperature is 14 degrees, the highest limit temperature is 35 degrees; the temperature difference between day and night is 3~6 degrees.

5. Light

Light was the most important factor affecting leaf growth and flower bud formation. When there is enough light, plants synthesize assimilates well, and at high temperatures, more assimilates are needed. In winter, try to introduce as much natural light as possible into the greenhouse, you can use clean glass and no shade greenhouse; in summer, avoid direct sunlight.

6. Humidity

1) Maintain a high humidity of 70%~80%(20~28 degrees). If you have to choose between high temperature and low air humidity, the former should be preferred-high temperature.

7. Air

Maintain ventilation. If not ventilated in time, harmful gases will increase, beneficial gases will decrease, and affect the normal growth and development of plants.

8 and water.

1) Water quality: Anthurium roots are sensitive to salts and strict on water quality. The best pH value of water quality is 5.5, which can be between 5 and 6. It is best to use rainwater that has been under for a while; when using tap water, it should be left for 3 to 4 days to volatilize chlorine; the water should not be dried in the sun to avoid the generation of green algae; cold boiled water can be used.

2) Water temperature: The watering temperature should be kept at about 15 degrees, including the added nutrient solution.

3) Frequency of water change: Mild water shortage is better than excessive water supply.

9. Topdressing

Fertilizers with high nitrogen content should be avoided in Anthurium cultivation; liquid fertilizers should not exceed 250 mg/L nitrogen, and plants with occasional nitrogen content of 400 mg/L are acceptable for finished plants, but irrigation must be followed. When applying liquid fertilizer by top-spraying method, plant leaves should be rinsed with clean water in time, otherwise the liquid fertilizer remaining on plant leaves will damage leaves and form gray cork scars on leaves.

It can be seen that in order to make the hydroponic Anthurium achieve the desired effect, then it is necessary to create a suitable environment for the growth of hydroponic Anthurium according to the above requirements.
