In the past two years, white stool, red body, vibrio disease, early death syndrome. All kinds of knotty and complicated problems in shrimp culture have always been a great problem for shrimp farmers. The outbreak of various new and old diseases has led to a sharp decline in the overall success rate of shrimp culture. The annual domestic shrimp production has dropped from 1.5 million tons at its peak to about 800000 tons today. In order to solve these diseases, operators have tried a variety of prescriptions from different angles, and a variety of "specific drugs" have emerged one after another, but either have different effects, or can not stand repeated verification or deliberation.

In the past, farmers have been using antibiotics to treat Vibrio disease of prawns. The positive role of antibiotics is mainly reflected in the prevention and treatment of aquatic animal diseases, promoting growth, saving nutrients and so on. Although antibiotics have a good application effect in the prevention and treatment of aquaculture diseases, it also promotes the development of aquaculture. However, because the continuous use of antibiotics is easy to produce drug-resistant strains, drug residues and easy to destroy the microecological balance of aquatic animals, on the one hand, aquaculture diseases become more and more difficult to treat; on the other hand, the quality and safety of aquatic products can not be guaranteed. Therefore, with the improvement of people's living standards and the increasing awareness of the quality and safety of aquatic products, the contradiction between the advantages and disadvantages of antibiotics has become increasingly intensified, which has aroused widespread concern.

In order to produce pollution-free aquatic products and improve the quality of aquatic products, but also for human health and the sustainable development of aquaculture, we should scientifically and reasonably understand the advantages and disadvantages of the use of antibiotics and use antibiotics cautiously to ensure the safety and hygiene of farmed aquatic products.

So, is there a way to widely and effectively control these shrimp diseases and avoid the side effects of antibiotics on the safety of aquatic products?

Zhu Shengshan, a national second-class professor, an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council, and former director of the Institute of traditional Chinese Medicine Development and Research of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, led his team to solve the difficult problem of raising shrimp after nearly 20 years of research and repeated experiments. Recently, Professor Zhu came to the Southern newspaper Media Group with his scientific research achievements and was interviewed by a reporter from Nanfang Network.

It takes 20 years to sharpen a sword and get the final result of the formula.

In 1998, a good friend of Professor Zhu proposed that he hoped to fund himself, and Professor Zhu led a team to conduct some research on the replacement of antibiotics by Chinese herbal medicine, which, if fruitful, would be a great blessing for the benefit of society. At first, Professor Zhu thought that this was an "impossible task" because antibiotics could inhibit or kill pathogenic microorganisms by directly acting on bacteria in the process of preventing and treating infectious diseases. Chinese herbal medicine is mainly suitable for regulating function, while western medicine works quickly, so people prefer to use antibiotics, and antibiotics are also convenient to use.

Confused, Professor Zhu and his team traveled all over the country, inspecting the resources of medicinal materials, and going through more than 10,000 prescriptions to study the formula of alternative antibiotics and Chinese herbal medicine. However, due to the grandeur of the subject, there has not been a specific direction in the previous decade.

Until 2014, when Professor Zhu's colleagues confided to him about the difficulties of raising prawns in his family, he said that the problem of bacterial drug resistance was becoming more and more serious, and antibiotics had no effect on Vibrio disease of shrimps. Therefore, Chinese herbal medicine may play an important role in replacing antibiotics to treat some diseases. With the mentality of "treating a dead horse as a doctor", I would like to ask Professor Zhu to try his formula.

When he first arrived at the home of his colleagues in Zhanjiang, Professor Zhu did not hold out much hope, because in previous studies, he had focused on 14 bacteria, such as E. coli, which act on humans. After looking at his colleagues' shrimp ponds, Professor Zhu and his students selected 12 ponds, two of them were compared, and five prescriptions were used for experimental research. it was found that one prescription of shrimp vibriosis was particularly useful, not only for the prevention and treatment of vibrio, but also for the cure of vibriosis. Professor Zhu and his team were very excited when they saw the result, which was undoubtedly a decisive experiment for their research, and it was through such an opportunity that Professor Zhu really determined his research direction.

A market opened by "betting"

Since then, after a series of more in-depth studies and experiments, Professor Zhu and his team have developed a series of traditional Chinese medicine compound KFJ Vibrio experts.

Everything is difficult at the beginning, as a company entering the market, it is the most difficult to get the first customer. Professor Zhu and his team's first client, Brother Hong, was gambled out.

At that time, Professor Zhu and his marketing team chose Jiangmen Daao as the first "battlefield". On the afternoon of the second day after arriving in Daao, the first group of colleagues arrived at the edge of Hong GE Tang. Brother Hong has about 100 shrimps in his shrimp pond. He has died 6-7 jin of shrimp every day in the last three days, which is completely out of control. Xiao Zhu in the team saw Brother Hong's shrimp and diagnosed it as a typical symptom of vibrio disease, so he proposed to Brother Hong to treat his shrimp for free. After listening to this, Brother Hong led Xiao Zhu into the house and pointed to all kinds of traditional Chinese medicine, chemical medicine, water regulating agent, etc., which were piled up by the wall, and said, "you see, I have tried all kinds of medicine, and I have also used traditional Chinese medicine, but it is to recuperate the intestines and stomach. The real cure is antibiotics, but now antibiotics are useless." .

"Why don't you try our vibrio expert? We'll cure it in two days. If you don't believe it, you can take a cup of pond water and drop a few drops of our products, which will kill all the vibrios immediately. " .

"I've seen a lot of this kind of experiment, and many people who sell disinfectants say they can kill bacteria in water. If you can, show me the vibrio in the shrimp. " .

"Brother Hong, a vibrio expert can kill Vibrio in one hour and cure Vibrio in two days." .

Brother Hong didn't believe me when he heard the call. At this time, Uncle Bing, a neighbor on one side, chimed in: "if you bet on it, you will pay for it, but if you can't cure it, you won't pay for it. I'll bear witness." .

"Yes, if you cure me, I'll give you money, and I'll buy 20 more sets. If you can't cure it, not only won't you pay me, but you'll have to compensate me for the loss of 2000 yuan in the past few days. What do you think? " Brother Hong said with some provocation.

"well, you don't need to buy more when you're cured, as long as you introduce us to three customers."

"No problem. All the villagers in the neighborhood learned to use medicine from me. If it is cured, not to mention 3, 30 are fine."

In this way, the first customer the marketing team talked about became a "bet". In the afternoon of the same day, Xiao Zhu was fed with Vibrio experts and did an hour-long experiment on Vibrio killing in shrimp. Early the next morning, Brother Hong happily told Xiao Zhu that the body color of the shrimp was transparent and the vitality of the shrimp was much better. The experimental effect of killing Vibrio in shrimp also showed that the TCBS plate (a medium for measuring Vibrio) in the non-treatment group had increased a lot of Vibrio, while the TCBS plate in the treatment group had no bacteria.

Two days after taking the medicine, Brother Hong, after checking the situation of the shrimp, excitedly told Xiao Zhu, "it's really all right!" he said, taking out his wallet and giving the medicine money, while pulling Xiao Zhu to introduce Uncle Bing, Brother Liang and other farmers. Led by Brother Hong, Professor Zhu and his marketing team slowly opened up the market in Daao, Jiangmen.

Chinese herbal medicine instead of antibiotics in the prevention and treatment of vibrio infectious diseases

Throughout the research, Professor Zhu and his team collected more than 3000 folk prescriptions to evaluate prescriptions, medicinal materials, processes and dosage forms in terms of pharmacodynamics and chemistry. Eight kinds of Chinese herbs such as Elsholtzia splendens, Elsholtzia splendens and Elsholtzia splendens were selected to form anti-vibrio compound KFJ (Vibrio expert), to examine the medicinal material resources (origin, collection, processing), optimize the preparation process, study and formulate preparation dosage, clinical evaluation and usage dosage, clinical verification and promotion.

In 2017, Professor Zhu led a team of students to treat more than 300 ponds in intensive shrimp farming areas in Guangdong. The cure rate of vibrio disease was 100%. It has been proved that "vibrio experts" can kill vibrio in vitro in seconds, kill vibrio in shrimp in one hour, and cure vibrio in two days. In addition, it can also improve liver enzyme activity, protect liver, improve immunity, improve anti-stress ability, induce food to promote growth and so on.

This year, Professor Zhu and his team treated more than 200 households and nearly 300 ponds in Jiangmen, Zhanjiang, Shanwei and other places in Guangdong Province for the treatment of red body, white stool, fluorescence, jejunal jejunum and death theft caused by Vibrio. There are 110 households of KFJ prescription extract for prevention, and the number is still increasing. Xiao Zhu in the team told reporters that after repeated experiments, "Vibrio expert" is now the fifth generation of products, but also the best effect, the most stable generation.

Strive to obtain authoritative certification and set up a specialized platform

In the course of the interview, Professor Zhu introduced to the reporter that next, the first thing they need to do is to obtain product certification. Let authoritative organizations such as the Provincial Marine Fisheries Department, the Ministry of Agriculture or the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations validate their products, and let the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations recognize that China has solved the world's difficult vibrio disease with Chinese herbal medicine; so that aquaculture people and units around the world no longer fear Vibrio disease and restore confidence in shrimp farming. In this way, shrimp farmers can feel more at ease to use the Chinese herbal medicine products developed by the team to prevent Vibrio disease and avoid environmental and food problems caused by the abuse of antibiotics.

The second is to expand the scope of services. At present, Professor Zhu and his team have carried out marketing in two pilot projects in Guangdong Province. the next step is to expand the formation of service teams, form alliances with high-quality partners, and carry out national distribution services and online consulting services. let shrimp farming friends all over the country and even around the world enjoy the services of vibrio experts and get rid of the threat of vibrio disease.

The third is to establish market channels. At the same time of expanding the establishment of service teams, forming alliances with high-quality partners, and expanding the scope of services, we should establish logistics, people flow and information flow channels jointly owned by the company and its partners, and make good products such as streptococcal experts, Nocardia experts, rotifer experts and ring worm experts smoothly through the channels to serve the aquatic products industry.

The fourth is to innovate products and make plans in advance. To set up a core R & D team and cooperate with industry-university-research to continue to study Chinese herbal medicine as an alternative to antibiotics will not only solve the problem of infectious diseases in aquatic animals, but also serve the animal husbandry industry.

Fifth, Professor Zhu hopes to set up a Chinese herbal medicine research and development platform to replace antibiotics. Through the platform, experts and enterprises at home and abroad are organized to jointly develop and create, to form relevant R & D teams; to build instruments and equipment interconnection and complementary service sharing institutions; and to divide work and cooperation according to professional expertise to form a platform with obvious professional advantages and strong overall innovation ability and service ability.

At the end of the interview, Professor Zhu told the reporter confidently: "our company's products escort farmers and contribute to food safety." Our team will continue to study human drugs in the future, and the compound anti-Staphylococcus aureus test of Chinese herbal medicine we have studied has achieved remarkable results. In the future, we will devote more energy and funds to the research on the use of Chinese herbal medicine by people who replace antibiotics, so as to contribute to human food safety and health as soon as possible.
