Can aloe bask in the sun? The sun is the main source of light for plants to carry out photosynthesis. But many friends also reported that aloe wilted and turned yellow after basking in the sun. On the contrary, the growth condition did not improve. Why on earth is this? To answer this question, it may be necessary to start with the growth habits of aloe.

Aloe is a perennial evergreen herb of Liliaceae, which integrates edible, medicinal, cosmetic and ornamental plants. Many families like to keep a pot of aloe. However, due to the lack of understanding of the growth habits of aloe, there are some problems in the process of planting and breeding.

I. Propagation of aloe vera

The main results are as follows: (1) meristem propagation is the main propagation method of aloe. The young plants of aloe were separated from their mothers and planted separately to form new plants of aloe that lived independently. Meristem propagation can be carried out in the whole growing period of aloe, but the temperature condition is the most suitable for meristem propagation in spring and autumn.

(2) cuttage propagation is also a commonly used method in the propagation of improved varieties of aloe. The difference between meristematic propagation and meristematic propagation is that the intact aloe seedlings with roots are separated from the mother and propagated.

Second, the habits of aloe.

1. Soil: aloe has good water and air permeability and high content of organic matter, and its pH value is 6.5 / 7.2.

2. Lighting: like light, withstand semi-shade, avoid direct sunlight and excessive shade.

3. Temperature: the suitable environmental temperature for growth is 20 ℃, and the best temperature at night is 14 ℃. Below 10 ℃, the growth basically stopped, and below 0 ℃, all the aloe mesophyll wilted and died after freezing.

4. Moisture: aloe has a strong ability to resist drought, and aloe from the soil can dry for several months without dying. Aloe vera needs sufficient water during its growing period, but it is not resistant to waterlogging.

5. Ecological environment: aloe's ecological environment (air, water, soil, etc.) can not be polluted, pay attention to ventilation.

6. Aloe needs not only nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, but also some trace elements. In order to ensure that aloe is a green natural plant, we should try to use fermented organic fertilizer, cake fertilizer, chicken manure and compost. Earthworm manure is more suitable for planting aloe.

Understand the growth habits of aloe, for aloe can bask in the sun, basically can make their own judgment: aloe likes light, but avoid direct sunlight; resistant to semi-shade, but not too shaded. Therefore, aloe vera, which is in the growing season, is most suitable for outdoor ventilation and good light, but it should be properly sheltered in the hot summer season. And the small seedlings, that is, the first seedlings that have been cultivated for about half a month, are not suitable to bask in the sun.
