Lily beautiful shape, pleasant fragrance, and color diversity, therefore, quite popular with many families. Whether planting or planting, it is often the first choice for home green plants. So, if the family plans to grow lilies, how should they reproduce? What kind of environment does lily need to grow?

Lily likes cool and cold. Poor growth in hot areas. Love dry, afraid of waterlogging. Excessive soil moisture causes bulbs to rot and die. The soil requirements are not strict, but sticky soil is not suitable for cultivation. But in the soil layer deep, fertile loose sandy loam, bulb color white, thick flesh. Lily root system developed stout, fertilizer tolerance.

Lily reproduction, asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction can be.

1. Asexual reproduction

There are three kinds of propagation in production: scale propagation, seed ball propagation and pearl bud propagation.

1. Scale reproduction

In autumn, select healthy, disease-free, plump scales and soak them in 1:500 benomyl or captan aqueous solution for 30 minutes. After taking them out, dry them in the shade. The base is downward. Insert 1/3~2/3 of the scales into the seedbed with fertile sandy loam. The density is 3~ 4 x 15 cm. Cover the grass to shade and moisturize. After about 20 days, the incision at the lower end of the scale will form 1 - 2 bulbs. Cultured 2~3 years bulbs can weigh 50 grams, about 100 kilograms of scales per mu, can be planted in about 15 mu of field.

2. Bulblet propagation

Lily old bulb stem axis can grow a number of new small bulbs, collected on the disease-free plant bulbs, disinfected by the row spacing of 25 cm ×6 cm sowing. After one year of cultivation, some of them can reach the standard of seed ball (50g), and the smaller ones can be cultivated for one year and then used as seeds.

3. Bulblet propagation

Buds are harvested in summer, mixed with moist yarn and stored in a cool, ventilated place. From September to October of the same year, seed buds on the seedbed according to the row spacing of 12~15 cm and the depth of 3~4 cm, cover 3 cm fine soil and cover grass.

Second, sexual reproduction

Harvest the ripe seeds in autumn. Seed in seedbed, the next autumn can produce small bulbs. This method takes a long time, the species is changeable, and it is rarely used in production.

It can be seen that the propagation of lily takes a long time, and there are certain technical requirements. It seems that in order to grow lily at home, it is best to find cultivated seedlings to grow.
