Evergreen leaves, evergreen seasons, green leaves with red fruits in winter, elegant and beautiful, with the beautiful meaning of eternal youth, health and longevity, everlasting friendship, wealth and auspiciousness. It is a very popular and excellent ornamental plant. So what are the breeding methods and matters needing attention of evergreen? Next, let the editor take you to understand it!

The culture method of evergreen

1. Soil requirements

It is appropriate to use sandy loam soil rich in humus as culture soil. The soil PH value of 6-6.5 is more favorable for it to fully absorb nutrients and requires loose, fertile and well-drained soil.

2. Environmental requirements

Evergreen prefers semi-shade, warm and ventilated environment, so the temperature should be controlled above 10 ℃. Except for the cold tolerance of Cymbidium, other varieties should be kept at 10 ℃ ~ 32 ℃. The whole sun can be maintained in winter, avoid excessive sunlight, but the light is too dark, it will also cause the leaves to fade.

3. Watering requirements

Evergreen likes to be wet and is not resistant to drought, but watering is best carried out when the surface of the basin soil is dry, too wet will rot the root system, (generally the root system is fleshy), and will withstand wilting due to large transpiration during drought, so it is necessary to sprinkle water frequently in summer to increase environmental humidity.

4. Fertilizer requirements

Fertilization is generally carried out when the temperature rises to 18 ℃ in spring. During the growing period, nitrogen fertilizer is applied every month to promote its rapid growth, and fertilizer and water are applied every two weeks from March to August. No fertilization is needed for high temperature in summer and low temperature in winter, and fertilization is reduced after autumn.

5. Pruning in time

If you want evergreen to grow well and grow green, you should clean and wipe the dust on the leaves in time. In addition, if the leaves are yellowed and scorched, they should be pruned in time to avoid unnecessary consumption of excessive nutrients.

6. Change the basin at the right time

After the cultivation of evergreen for two years, the pot was changed once in spring, and the combination of pot change and ramet was carried out. When changing the basin, remove part of the old soil and cut off the senescent rhizomes, and supplement the culture soil mixed with 5 parts of garden soil, 4 parts of rotten leaf soil and 1 part of sandy soil. In addition, several pieces of the old leaves on the periphery of the adult plant should be cut off before and after the Beginning of Summer to facilitate the germination of new buds, new leaves and mullions. If the room temperature is kept above 5 degrees during the overwintering period, it can survive the winter safely.

Matters needing attention in evergreen culture

1. Evergreen is a fleshy root plant, stagnant water is easy to cause waterlogging, watering too much, easy to cause rotten roots.

2. If the leaf tip is yellow and scorched, or even the whole plant wilts in winter, it is mainly caused by the inability of the roots to absorb water and affect the growth.

3. Indoor cultivation of evergreen should be kept warm, moist and semi-overcast. The summer growth is exuberant, must place in the shade place, lest the strong light illuminates, otherwise, easy to cause the leaf dry tip scorched edge, affects the ornamental effect.
