Azalea, as ornamental flowers and trees, not only green leaves and the United States, especially its brilliant flowers, gave people a very deep impression. Perhaps it is for this reason that friends who grow azaleas will care: what season does azaleas bloom? Can the flowering time of azaleas be controlled?

Rhododendron evergreen or flat evergreen shrubs, in all ornamental flowers and trees, called flowers, leaves and the United States. I believe that the friends who cultivate azaleas around are very much looking forward to azaleas blooming!

1. Rhododendron flowering time

In fact, the flowering time of different species of rhododendrons varies from place to place. If rhododendrons are cultivated in greenhouses in the north, they can bloom in January to February, while rhododendrons on land bloom in March to May, and rhododendrons at high altitudes bloom in July to August.

2. Under what circumstances does the cuckoo bloom

Flowering is closely related to temperature, which directly affects flower bud formation and bud development, and is one of the important factors controlling flowering. Practice shows that under certain light conditions, temperature in the range of 15 - 25 ℃, bud development faster, flowering time accelerated, about 30-40 days to bloom; below 15℃ flowering time needs more than 50 days.

If you want azaleas to bloom during the Spring Festival, then you can move the cultivated azaleas to a greenhouse at 20 ° C in January of that year or about 20 days before the Spring Festival, and you must place them in the sun, and other management is as usual. When the Spring Festival comes, you can see azaleas blooming colorful flowers.

If you want azaleas to see flowers on May 1, you can move the potted azaleas pot to indoor storage below 5℃ before sprouting in early spring, wait until April 10 or so and then move them to a greenhouse sunny place at 20℃ for a period of time, and place azaleas outdoors on April 20, so that the azaleas can bloom on May 1.

Azaleas that are cut after flowering can bloom in late October. If the growth season is properly pruned, the flowering period of azaleas can be delayed by about 40 days; if it is pruned in combination with cutting, the flowering period of azaleas can be delayed to February of the following year.

3. Rhododendron blooms several times a year

Azaleas generally have three flowering periods. Spring azaleas generally bloom between April and May, and then bloom new leaves; summer azaleas bloom from May to June, and then bloom new leaves; spring and summer azaleas bloom between the two, and the combined leaves germinate almost simultaneously. But now some places are bred out of the four seasons flowering cuckoo.

Temperature can control when azaleas bloom. Therefore, as long as you are familiar with this characteristic and properly treated, azaleas can not only bloom all year round, but also bloom on time.
