1. Use ripe soybeans as fertilizer

Soya beans cooked, cool, when planted as base fertilizer, can effectively increase production and growth of melon to provide nutrients. Soybean is rich in phosphorus, iron and calcium. Each 100g soybean contains 571mg phosphorus, 11mg iron and 367mg calcium respectively. Its bioavailability is long-term.

2. grafting method

Grafting rootstock often uses black-seeded pumpkin, sowing melon seeds first, 3~4 days later, sowing pumpkin seeds, so that the stem diameter of the two is similar during grafting, which is conducive to grafting.

After the pumpkin seeds emerge, the two cotyledons are flattened and the true leaves are just exposed. Grafting can be started. When grafting, remove the true leaf growth point and lateral bud of rootstock with shaving blade first, then cut the oblique mouth of about 1/2 stem thickness from top to bottom with knife at the narrow side of flat stem at 0.5cm below the growth point, cut the oblique mouth of 2/3 stem thickness from bottom to top at 1.5cm below the growth point of melon seedling, the oblique length of rootstock and scion incision is about 1cm, and the incision should be smooth and smooth, so as to facilitate wound healing.

Then the two cuts are inserted into each other to make the cotyledons of both sides cross, and fixed by grafting clamp. Meanwhile, the root of melon is buried in the nutrition bowl of rootstock, and a little water is poured along the edge of the nutrition bowl to promote seedling slowing.

When grafting, pay attention to separating the rhizomes of the two seedlings for a certain distance, so as to facilitate the root cutting of melon in the future. About 7 days after grafting, when the interface has healed, cut off the scion root in time. The cutting position should be close to the interface as much as possible, not close to the ground, so as to avoid adventitious roots, forming self-rooted seedlings and affecting the grafting effect.

3. Pruning should be timely

According to the comprehensive analysis of melon setting habits, if not pruned in time, there will be excessive growth, serious vine running, more flowers and less melon, forming a leaf all over the ground, scattered egg melon.

Through pruning, it can promote early sitting melon, sitting good melon, ensure double harvest of yield and quality. When the main vine grows to 4~5 leaves, it should be picked in time to promote the growth of 3~4 lateral vines, then select a strong main vine, cut off all the rest, and use the lateral vines left on the main vine to sit on 3~5 back pinches.

Use side vine 1~2 unripe melon, if a certain side vine does not sit melon, can continue to stay 1~2 to pick the heart.

4. Measures to Prevent Melon from "Melon Melon" and Improve Fruit Setting Rate

Artificial pollination: collect the male flowers that will bloom the next day in the afternoon of the previous day or collect the male flowers that will just bloom in the morning of the same day, strip the petals of the male flowers, and gently touch the male flowers on the stigma of the female flowers (bearing flowers).

Timely pruning and topping: pruning can not only adjust the contradiction between vegetative growth and reproductive growth, but also improve the ventilation and light transmission conditions. 2-3 days before the female flowers bloom, 2-3 leaves should be left in time for topping. After the melon seat is stable, it should be topped in time to concentrate the nutrient supply and promote fruit expansion.

Hormone treatment: p-chlorophenoxyacetic acid can also improve the fruit setting rate. The method is to select female flowers that bloom that day at 8-10 am every day and dip the fruit stalk with 20 mg/l (ppm) of liquid medicine. Be careful not to get the ovary drugged. Avoid repeated use to avoid cracking and abnormal fruit. This method saves more labor than artificial pollination, and the fruit setting rate is over 95%.

5. Why not sit down?

The main reason why melon does not sit is that the nutrient supply is not balanced enough, that is to say, the nutrient growth is too prosperous, which affects the reproductive growth. No matter what melon, the principle is that if you don't sit or can't sit, you have to pinch the tip. Strictly control the number of melon vines. Don't pinch them randomly to form multiple vines.

Note: planting to play a good time difference, harvest time is different, the price varies greatly. In order to obtain higher income, according to the growth period of cantaloupe, he accurately calculated the planting time, and strictly controlled the temperature and humidity, so that cantaloupe harvest coincided with the festival.
