Growing strawberries: all four are important and indispensable.
Lao Wang is also a big grower in his village. He almost planted melons, fruits and vegetables, but he didn't make any money. Seeing that he was strange to make money from growing strawberries, he planted strawberries in dozens of greenhouses.
Later, Lao Wang was not happy. Everyone else was busy harvesting strawberries, and Lao Wang's still had no movement, which worried him to death. He found Mr. Fu. It turned out that there were problems in planting management through communication. I'd like to share with you here.
Plant management is very important in the growth process of strawberry. It usually includes the following four items.
Strawberry farmers remove lateral buds to improve flower bud differentiation
Remove the lateral buds at any time. Lateral buds will consume a lot of nutrients in the main stem, and the growth potential of the main stem is weak, affecting germination and differentiation.
Strawberries can also achieve high yield by thinning flowers and fruits.
Breaking the weak inflorescence under the strawberry plant in time during flowering can save nutrients, increase the number of fruits, promote ripening, concentrate the harvest period, and prevent premature senescence of the plant. Generally, 1-3 grade flowers and fruits can be retained on each inflorescence. In the young fruit, timely removal of deformed fruit, disease and insect fruit, can make strawberries neat, but also can be high-yielding.
Timely fruit mulching has a certain effect on disease control.
After strawberry fruit setting, with the growth of fruit, ear drooping, strawberry contact with the ground, fertilization and watering are easy to pollute the fruit surface, which is not only easy to infection disease, cause rot, but also affect coloring and ripening. Therefore, for strawberry orchards that are not covered with plastic film, 2-3 weeks after flowering, cover the strawberries with wheat straw or straw. Fruit placement is beneficial to improve the commercial value of strawberries, and also has a certain effect on preventing Botrytis cinerea and Phytophthora fruit rot.
Removal of diseased and residual leaves of strawberries reduces the spread of bacteria
The new and old leaves of strawberry plants renew frequently in a year. In the growing season, when the lower leaves of the plant are horizontally planted and begin to turn yellow, they should be removed in time. For the overwintering old leaves, there are often parasitic pathogens. After the new leaves grow, the old leaves should be removed as soon as possible, which is beneficial to ventilation and light transmission and accelerate plant growth. Diseased leaves should also be removed in time. The diseased old residual leaves are burned or buried deeply to reduce the spread of germs.
