Planting cherry tomatoes always bear little fruit, the planting details are revised, and the small tomatoes are innumerable.
Anyone who has ever planted or seen cherry tomatoes in a vegetable garden will be shocked that cherry tomatoes are so capable of fruiting that if they are planted well, they can bear four or five hundred tomatoes. So many people want to plant a few trees at home, but the results are not always so many, its planting method is still different from growing big tomatoes.
1. Variety selection
The growth and fruiting ability of the cherry tomato itself is very strong, the growth cycle is long, and the yield is high. We grow more virgins, millennials, cupids, Venus and so on. These cherry tomatoes can bear 30 or 40 fruits per ear, and if the nutrition is sufficient, the plant grows indefinitely. Buy this kind of cherry tomato seeds must go to the regular manufacturers, do not buy fake seeds.
2. Soil preparation and fertilization
Cherry tomatoes have strong roots, are widely distributed, and grow better on loose, fertile, well-ventilated sandy soil, so it is important for us to plant cherry tomatoes on the ground. Turn the soil at least twice before planting, apply sufficient base fertilizer, 3 tons of rotten manure per mu, 200 jin of cake fertilizer, 100 jin of compound fertilizer, 40 jin of superphosphate, and calcium fertilizer must be applied to plant tomatoes, so that tomato plants grow strongly, especially not easy to crack fruits.
3. Daily management
Seedling cultivation: eggplant fruit vegetables are planted first and then transplanted no matter in production or in the family. Seedling plates are used in production, and it is easiest to raise seedlings with disposable water cups at home. Tomato seedling stage is generally about 35 days, we can determine the sowing time according to the planting time. It is best to soak the tomato seeds before sowing, that is, soak the seeds in clean water for 6-8 hours, then wrap them with gauze. We put them in the greenhouse at the right temperature, and we can sow the seeds as soon as they are exposed.
Transplanting: Cherry tomatoes can be planted in advance of spring, delayed autumn or overwintering in the solar greenhouse, spring stubble is generally planted in the arch shed, planted at the end of March and early April, and cherry tomatoes are planted in the open field at the end of April.
1800 cherry tomatoes were planted per mu and cultivated in large and small rows of 90cm and 70cm, with plant spacing of 30cm. Water the plant after planting until the first ear is set, and do not water if the soil is not particularly dry. For eggplant fruit vegetables must prevent the fruiting period vegetative growth is too prosperous, the early growth is a little weaker in order to bear more fruit. After the first ear is settled, the soil can be kept dry and wet, and fertilizer can be applied every 10 days or so, applying rotten cake fertilizer 20kg and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer 10kg per mu.
Pruning and forking: Cherry tomatoes need to hang vines or brackets, using single-pole pruning, the main branch is not topped, and the lateral branches are topped with two leaves. When the tomato begins to turn red, it begins to knock off the diseased leaves at the bottom, which is good for light and ventilation. Pick the old leaves from the bottom to the position of the ear where the fruit is picked.
Artificial pollination: the fruiting ability of cherry tomato itself is very strong, if you plant in open field, you do not need pollination, if you can use bumblebee pollination or artificial spray as an aid.
When we grow cherry tomatoes, we must buy seeds from regular manufacturers, which is the basis for much better growth, and then cherry tomatoes have higher requirements for soil, and grow better on sandy soil. I think many people may grow tomatoes, and some detailed things can be modified according to the above, so that one plant of cherry tomatoes can bear 400 to 500 fruits as others do.
