Fugui bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana cv.Virescens), also known as Xianda dragon blood tree, edge bamboo banana, originated in Congo, Cameroon. Evergreen shrubs, stems slender, erect, basally branched, up to more than 2 m high and 40 cm wide. Rich bamboo is a kind of plant with elegant and gorgeous, chic posture and bamboo rhyme. It is short and colorful, it is very suitable to be placed on the balcony on the desk, as a kind of ornamental plant. Rich bamboo is welcomed by many families because of its wealth and green bamboo charm.

Planting

Rich bamboo is generally propagated by cuttings. Cuttings are best in the rainy season from June to July, select mature branches, cut them into 10 cm, and insert them in coarse sand.

Rich bamboo can also be hydroponically cultivated. Choose a strong and upright stem with leaves and cut it into a smooth slant near the base of the stem node when shearing to facilitate the absorption of water and nutrients. Then cut off the leaves at the base. In the initial stage of hydroponic culture, the whisker root can be grown once a day in about 2 weeks, and once a week after rooting.

Watering

Summer growth is exuberant, should be properly shaded, and frequently watered, do not make the basin soil dry. Water can be frequently sprayed to the plant during the growing period.

Temperature

The optimum growth temperature is between 20 and 30 ℃, the overwintering temperature is better kept above 10 ℃, and it is not resistant to low temperature freezing injury.

Light

Bamboo Xiguang, and avoid direct summer sun, family maintenance can be placed under the south window or balcony, only in summer to avoid direct light, other seasons had better be able to give a certain amount of light, otherwise the golden stripes in the middle of the leaves will be dim and disappear, seriously reduce the ornamental value.

Fertilizer

Phnom Penh rich bamboo does not have a strict demand for fertilizer, either chemical fertilizer or organic fertilizer can be applied during the growing period, but a small amount of chemical fertilizer should be applied for many times and watered in time after fertilization. In addition, when changing the basin and soil every year, a certain mature organic fertilizer can be added as the base fertilizer to ensure its good growth.

Pest control

Phnom Penh rich bamboo is often harmed by leaf spot, stem rot and root rot, which can be sprayed with 100 times Bordeaux solution many times. Insect pests are harmful to thrips and scale insects. Spray with 1000 times of omethoate EC.

Main value

Potted ornamental: because of its beautiful appearance, it is mainly used as a potted ornamental with high value.
