Mandarin duck, also known as foreign duck and turkey duck, is a large omnivorous duck breed, which can be said to be a kind of poultry with edible, medicinal and ornamental value. Mandarin ducks have the characteristics of easy breeding, fast growth, liking water, gregariousness, cold tolerance, high temperature tolerance, strong adaptability and so on, so today let's take a look at how this kind of duck is artificially raised.

1. Site selection and construction of breeding farm

The mandarin duck farm had better choose the high and dry terrain, but the overall flat area, the soil had better be sandy loam, which is conducive to drainage and keep the farm dry. The orientation of farm construction is best to sit north and face south, so that it is warm in winter and cool in summer, which is more beneficial to breeding. There is a good permeability of the duck house, equipped with temperature control equipment, and reasonable planning of food trough, sink and so on. Finally, the farm should have a relatively large sports ground with a pool, which is more conducive to the growth of mandarin duck.

2. Duck seedling selection

Many people do not know anything about mandarin duck, so they are hesitant to choose duck seedlings and often listen to the advice of sellers. In fact, this is not a good idea. When we select mandarin duck, in fact, it is the same as ordinary duck seedling selection, mainly to observe the activity and feeding of mandarin duck, and then to see whether its eyes are bright, whether its feathers are smooth and supple, and whether its paw is moist and powerful. there is to observe whether the feces of duck seedlings are normal, there is no diarrhea phenomenon, so we can basically be sure.

3. Culture method

The ways of breeding are generally divided into three types: captive culture, stocking and mixed culture. Among them, the best quality is stocking, but it takes more energy in management, and at present, the most commonly used way is mixed culture, which can improve the economic benefits of breeding, and captive breeding is also possible, of course, but its quality is relatively not as good as stocking. And when we carry out mixed culture, we should pay attention to the proportion of mixed culture, otherwise there will also be breeding problems.

4. Feeding and management

We mainly carry out feeding and management in three stages. First of all, there is the management of ducklings. For the young ducklings that have just been purchased, we have to disinfect them before entering the farm, and then the temperature in the breeding room should be controlled at about 30 degrees Celsius. After three days, the mandarin ducks and ducks are familiar with the environment, and then slowly decrease. In the process of raising ducklings, we need to feed ducklings many times a day, almost five or six times, and we should not use too much each time. In addition, it is necessary to frequently change the cushion, change the water and properly supplement the light to improve the immunity of the ducklings. After about seven weeks of feeding, we will enter the middle duck management stage, we will carry out group feeding, male ducks and female ducks will be raised separately, and then grouped according to the growth rate, strength and weakness, and the feed should be changed for fattening. Finally, there is the management of adult ducks. generally, fattening adult ducks can be sold, but if they want to breed themselves, they need to keep breeding ducks. it is best to choose adult ducks with larger size and strong growth. We should control the amount of feed, reduce the nutritional content of feed, control body weight and promote production.

When raising mandarin duck, we also need to pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. First of all, we need to vaccinate in strict accordance with the process of vaccine immunization, and the second is to observe their growth and control diseases and insect pests in time.
