Planting method and Propagation of Flowers-- Dendrobium
Because Dendrobium is strong in nature and affable, it is known as "the flower of father". So how is Dendrobium cultured? Is there any good method in breeding? What matters do we need to pay attention to in breeding Dendrobium? Please read on with me with questions.

Culture methods of Dendrobium (basic knowledge):
The best propagation time: the best propagation time of Dendrobium is mostly in spring or summer, mainly in summer.
The best growth soil: because Dendrobium is epiphyte, do not use ordinary soil cultivation, with coconut shredded, coconut bran, withered branches, water moss and other materials are better.
Growth humidity requirements: the air humidity of cultured Dendrobium should be large, it is best to control the air humidity above 80%, and good ventilation is required.
The best growth temperature: Dendrobium likes to be warm. The best growth temperature is 20: 25 ℃ in daytime and 15 ℃ at night.
The best growth light: the planting place must have sufficient light, which is more beneficial to the growth and flowering of Dendrobium.

Matters needing attention in culture of Dendrobium candidum
First, fertilizer application: Dendrobium growth requires more stringent environmental and nutritional conditions, fertilization is one of the important links, because proper fertilization of Dendrobium plants will grow vigorously, Dendrobium quality will be higher. Fertilization should be reasonable, a small amount, diligent fertilization, fertilization is best to use organic fertilizer or special fertilizer, but also according to the plant growth stage to adjust the fertilization scheme to ensure the normal growth of the plant.
Second, watering key points: the air humidity of Dendrobium in the later stage of planting is too small to be often watered and moisturized, and a sprayer can be used to water in the form of spray.
Third, pruning essentials: before Dendrobium germinates in spring every year, when harvesting Dendrobium, part of the old branches, withered branches and overdense stems should be cut off to promote the germination of robust new stems. If you plant it on a tree, you should also cut off the branches that are too dense so that the light transmission is moderate.
Fourth, basin soil replacement: after pouring out the plant, first remove the old plant material, cut off the rotten old root, if the plant is larger, you can use a larger flowerpot, fill a layer of charcoal in the basin, and then put into the large plant, fill the new plant material and place it in the semi-shade. The time to change the pot should be carried out after flowering.
Fifth, the main points of reproduction: Dendrobium mainly adopts the method of ramet propagation. The planting of Dendrobium is generally carried out in spring, and it is easy to survive because of high humidity and increasing rainfall in spring. The sturdy and pest-free Dendrobium was selected, the old stem of more than 3 years was cut off for medicinal use, and the biennial new stem was used for reproduction. When propagating, subtract the overgrown roots, leave 2-3 cm, separate the species, contain 2-3 stems per gram, and then plant them. Stone planting and tree planting can be adopted.
(1) sticking stone planting: on the selected stone, a concave hole is cut out according to the plant distance of 30 cm, and a thin layer of Cypriot stone cave or trough is removed by mixing thin mud with cow dung, so as to keep it from falling off and can be fixed with small stones.
(2) Tree planting: on the selected tree, cut off part of the bark on the tree according to 30cm to 40cm, coat the tree with a thin layer of cow dung and mud mixture, then stick the bark into the broken bark or the longitudinal crack ditch of the tree, cover with a layer of straw and tie it up with bamboo slices.
VI. Disease and pest control:
1. Black spot of Dendrobium: it occurs from March to May in order to damage the leaves. Prevention and control method: 50% carbendazim 1000 times solution can be sprayed for 1 or 2 times.
2. Anthracnose of Dendrobium: in order to damage leaves and stems and branches, brown or black spots appeared in the damaged leaves, which occurred from January to May. Prevention and treatment: spray 2 times with 50% carbendazim 1000 times or 50% methyl topiramate 1000 times.
3. Dendrobium phenanthrene shield scale: parasitic on the edge or back of plant leaves, sucking sap, the peak incubation period is in late May. Prevention and control method: 40% dimethoate emulsion 1000 times liquid spray can be used to kill or burn the old branches of the shield shell.

Value of Dendrobium:
Dendrobium has high ornamental value, the flower color is bright, if it has color spots, it should be beautiful and pleasing to the eye, and the color and color spots of the lips should be eye-catching; the inflorescence is different with the parent system, the curved arch is the best, and the flowers should be arranged densely and moderately in order to fully show the beauty of each flower. Dendrobium also has medicinal value, with the effects of calming stomach qi, growing muscle, promoting intelligence and eliminating fear, clearing deficiency heat and so on.
