There are always a few plants in the aquarium to provide oxygen supply, but what are the benefits of aquatic plants besides increasing the amount of oxygen in the tank and maintaining its beauty? Let's take a look at it together.

First, the benefits of raising water and grass tanks.

1. Supply fish oxygen

This is the greatest function of aquatic plants. In the light, aquatic plants continuously pour oxygen into the water, and likewise into the bottom layer, and frankly, no artificial device can perform the same function.

2. Absorbing metabolites

The metabolism of fish produces a large amount of organic matter, which is absorbed by aquatic plants, which are mainly compounds of nitrogen and phosphates. If their content is not reduced, it will cause excessive growth of algae.

3. Fungus active surface

Bacteria continue to break down and recombine some compounds, and without these bacteria, they may pose a threat to aquariums or fish. Therefore, they need a lot of living space, whether on the bottom bed, in the screening program, or even on aquatic plants, which is another important function of aquatic plants.

4. Water quality and environment

A tank of luxuriant water plants can not only achieve the landscape effect of decorating the water plant tank, but more importantly, it can decompose the toxic substances and pollutants in the water, and can improve and regulate the water quality in the water plant tank.

II. Planting methods of aquatic plants

1. Selection of aquatic plants

Generally speaking, the leaves of most aquatic plants are relatively soft, such as Ike grass, big bamboo leaves, water lilies and so on, because their leaf tissue is soft and vulnerable, so pack and carry carefully. The best way is to put the tropical fish in a plastic bag at the time of purchase, so that the plant will not be harmed by too high or too low temperature.

2. Before planting aquatic plants

Before planting aquatic plants, the water grass box should hold coarse sand (or building stones), spread it into 7-101cm thickness, and then plant the water grass into the water plant tank.

3. Planting tips

When planting aquatic plants, according to the size of aquatic plants or long, medium and short order, first grow long and then short, so that planting will not be messy. If it is a water plant with a stem, put the part below the root the year before last, and then remove the leaves near the root so as not to rot at the bottom of the bed.

III. Management of aquaculture

1. Plenty of light

After the aquatic plants are planted in the tank, the management should be strengthened. One is to give enough light. The light should be no less than 6 hours a day, and it is better to illuminate the aquatic plants with fluorescent lamps. All kinds of aquatic plants can grow well and will not burn the leaves because of the strong sunlight in summer.

2. Temperature control

In order to control the temperature, keeping the water temperature at about 25 ℃ is the most favorable for its growth, and heating measures should be taken when the water temperature is low in winter.

3. The density of aquatic plants

Pay attention to the density of aquatic plants, the planting quantity of aquatic plants should be determined according to the size of the tank, too much is easy to squeeze the activity space of fish, is not conducive to the growth of fish, should be cleaned up in time.
