Someone wants to know if the tomato is safe, so we tested him for heavy metal and pesticide residues.

Last time we mentioned that there are very few potatoes and purple potato pesticides in the deep-buried picture. What about the tomatoes that people often eat? We have never detected pesticide residues in tomatoes before. Someone left us a message to test it. Then let's support you this time and test the tomatoes.

Test item

1 heavy metals

Five kinds of lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic and chromium were detected.

As heavy metals caused by industrial pollution will be absorbed by agricultural products, human consumption of contaminated agricultural products will cause heavy metals to accumulate in the body for years, resulting in tissue and nerve damage and even cancer. The above five kinds of heavy metals are the most common heavy metals in the pollution, and the national standard has made a limit on different agricultural products.

2 Pesticide residues

Pesticide residue refers to the general name of trace pesticide plasma, toxic metabolites, degradation products and impurities that have not been decomposed but remain in agricultural products in a period of time after pesticide use. Human consumption of contaminated agricultural products will cause long-term accumulation of pesticide residues in the human body, cause chronic poisoning, bring potential threats to human health, and even induce many chronic diseases and even cancers.

There are thousands of pesticides, all of which can not be detected. Here is selected for the detection of 210 + common pesticide residues in the GB 2763-2016 standard.

Test result

The following is a screenshot of the test results:

Heavy metals are not detected at all. Awesome!

Eleven items of pesticide residues were detected and compared with the standard:

Tomatoes, 11 kinds of pesticide residues.

But the residues are very small.

It should be safe to take off the skin and eat.

Note: this report can only describe the status of the items tested, but does not represent whether other untested items meet the standards. (no way, there are thousands of pesticide residue projects, and it is not realistic to test all of them.)
