The Dietary guidelines for Chinese residents (2016) recommend eating fruits and vegetables with a daily intake of 300g to 500g of vegetables and 200g to 350g of fresh fruit. It is good to eat fruits and vegetables, but if you eat fruits and vegetables with pesticide residues, it will do harm to your health.

Some experts suggest that in order to avoid the residue of vegetables being washed, soaked and scalded after buying back vegetables, that is, wash the vegetables and then soak them for 1 hour or 2 hours, finally scald the soup with boiling water, and then stir-fry with oil, salt and seasoning, so that the toxicity of pesticide residues can be greatly reduced without losing the original taste of vegetables. However, some vegetables, especially most fruits, should be eaten raw. How can we remove pesticide residues from fruits and vegetables? The editor has arranged a few tips for you.

First, soak water to wash off pollution

The main pesticides in vegetables are organophosphorus pesticides. Organophosphorus pesticides are insoluble in water, and this method can only remove some of the contaminated pesticides. However, washing is the basic method to remove other dirt and pesticide residues from vegetables, melons and fruits. Mainly used for leafy vegetables, such as spinach, golden needle, leek, lettuce, Chinese cabbage and so on. Generally, rinse off the surface dirt with water, and then soak it with clean water for not less than 10 minutes. Fruit and vegetable cleaning agents can promote the dissolution of pesticides, so a small amount of fruit and vegetable cleaning agents can be added when soaking. Rinse with clean water for 2 or 3 times after soaking.

Second, alkali water, rice washing water and boiled water are effective in removing pesticide residues.

Fruit and vegetable pesticides are usually soluble in water and are not resistant to high temperature. as long as they are done properly, the residues can be cleverly removed. Most fruits and vegetables soak for a long time will lead to the loss of water-soluble vitamins, so you can use the impulse of water to scrub hard under the faucet to destroy the cementing force of pesticides and achieve the effect of removal. "parts that are not easy to clean, such as the tail of vegetables and the head of green peppers, can be removed to protect health.

For spinach, lettuce, cabbage and other leafy vegetables, generally wash off the surface dirt with water, and then soak it with clean water. Generally, soaking can be repeated 2 to 3 times, each time not less than 10 minutes, if necessary, you can add fruit and vegetable cleaning agent.

Self-made pomelo peel water can be used as pesticide cleaning agent

Pesticides are generally divided into water-soluble and fat-soluble. Water-soluble pesticides are easy to clean, generally rinse with clean water and soak in salt water. But fat-soluble pesticides are more difficult to clean. Experts provide you with a self-made cleaning agent, which can remove both water-soluble pesticides and fat-soluble pesticides:

1. After the orange or grapefruit is washed, the skin is cut into 1-2 cm segments

2. Put it in a container and soak the grapefruit peel with water

3. Add a little baking soda and salt

4. Sealed and stored at room temperature for 7 days.

After cleaning the vegetables, you can wash them again with grapefruit peel water, so that the pesticide residues in the vegetables can be effectively removed.
