There are tricks for growing bowl lotus. With these tips, bowl lotus can blossom and blossom.

1. Select the basin.

Don't think that the bowl lotus is planted in the bowl. It can also blossom in the bowl, but the bowl should be a big sea bowl, the soil should be fully mature fertile soil, and chemical fertilizer should be applied every 20 days. The selected lotus root should be small, which is only the size of the thumb, which can be adapted in the bowl. In general, it is appropriate to choose the number basin. From an aesthetic point of view, porcelain pots are better, followed by pottery pots and plastic pots, but pots of any kind can blossom. The basin with bottom hole should be plugged with cement or self-adhesive, and first release water to test leakage to ensure that it does not seep into the water and then use it.

2. Soil.

In the first planting, we should not apply immature fertilizer, but should apply fully mature base fertilizer. The oilseed cake, livestock manure, garden soil or field soil should be smashed and mixed well, fermented with plastic film, opened before going on the basin, and exposed to sterilization and disinfestation in the sun; the best thing is to remove and dry the pond mud that has not been contaminated by industry; if it is only yellow mud, it should be mixed with sand to make it loose and mix well with base fertilizer.

3. Water quality

Water with a neutral pH is the best. Tap water should be stored for 24 hours before use. If there is more chlorine, it will have an impact on the bowl lotus. Industrial sewage and greasy domestic sewage are absolutely unusable.

4. Planting

Some people say that when planting, it is necessary to hide the head (not) to expose the tail, cut off a section of the tail, and plant all the lotus root in the soil. The soil should be added to 3/5 of the basin and should be relatively compacted to prevent the soil from loosening and causing the lotus root to surface during irrigation. By July and August, the lotus root segments grew up, and the basin soil grew higher, and the basin space was only 1/5, or even less.

5. Management

The floating leaves must float on the surface of the water. If the water is too deep, the floating leaves will be submerged in the water, and the lotus root will suffocate.

1) ventilation toward the sun. The bowl lotus, like the lake lotus, is a strong light plant. When some lotus farmers see the lotus leaf field, they put it on their desk to play elegantly, so that if they play with leaves, they will not be able to become flowers, and if there is not enough light, they will not be able to grow flowers; and then there will be ventilation, and if there are many varieties, there should be room. The north and south are arranged longitudinally, and the two pots depend on each other.

2) irrigation. It is best to prepare a jar and put it outdoors, so that the water temperature in the tank is basically the same as that in the basin, so that the growth of the bowl lotus will not be affected. If planting in a large area, there must be a pool; in the field, it is necessary to dig ditches, the water temperature is the same, and it is convenient to add water. In July and August, because of the growth of new lotus root, the soil surface rises and there is little space in the basin, so water must be added frequently. The principle of adding water is: the mud does not come out of the water. As soon as the mud comes out of the water, it will be filled with water. The best time to add water is in the morning or evening.

3) weeding. Weeds in the basin, compete with the lotus for fertilizer, water, sunshine and space, there is no good, must be eliminated. The bowl lotus is very delicate, and the government never dares to use herbicides, all by hand. If there are too many grass roots, one hand should be pressed to protect the bowl lotus, and one wisp of it should be removed one by one. Don't be impatient. If you are impatient, it is easy to throw a mouse hammer. Besides, the lotus is also hurt.

4) fertilization. Fertilization should be done step by step, and seedlings should not be pulled out to encourage it. It is best not to apply fertilizer before standing leaves. If there are more standing leaves, the hair will be yellow, dry and glossy, so it is necessary to apply fertilizer. In this case, urea is the best; if only long leaves do not show buds, it is necessary to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate has a good effect.

6. Pruning.

No matter how well potted lotus is managed, it is inevitable that there are no yellow leaves and withered leaves. Some leaves are too dense for sunlight to enter the basin, which also affects budding. So pruning is necessary. We should pay attention to two points: one is to cut the old leaves to keep the tender leaves; the other is to cut the leaf rod higher than the basin surface, if it is lower than the basin surface, the water will flow into the lotus root from the break, making it rot.

7. Change the basin.

Bowl lotus doesn't like lotus soil. A year later, the soil looks swarthy. In fact, it no longer has any fertilizer effect and needs to be replaced. The lotus soil has been kept for a year, mixed with base fertilizer, and can be used the next year. The way to change the basin is to prepare two large basins, one of which is filled with clean water. Remember: a pot of lotus root.
