Pot planting method of tree peony

Peony is a traditional famous flower in China, with many varieties, beautiful appearance, large color and magnificent flowers. It is known as "national color Tianxiang" and "king of flowers". In addition to the unique geographical conditions, the cultivation of peony also needs careful cultivation and management.

1. Prepare soil

The culture soil should be prepared one month before the potted plant and can not be used until it is mature. The cultivated soil should be loose, fertile, with high humus content, long-lasting fertilizer effect and easy drainage. Formula: humus soil, horse dung, garden soil, coarse sand or slag are well mixed according to the ratio of 2 to 1, and sealed with human dung and urine to cook a boat and set aside.

2. Select the flowerpot

At the beginning of planting, the flowerpot can choose a smaller earthen pot with a caliber of 30cm and a depth of 25cm; when flowering, it can be replaced with a large potted pot with a caliber of 35cm and a depth of 30cm.

3. Potted plant time

The suitable time for potted peony planting is the same as that in the field. Heze and Luoyang are generally suitable for late September to early October, and early planting is easy to "autumn hair"; too late root growth is slow, plant growth is not prosperous, and even easy to die after flowering in the coming year.

4. Drying the seedlings

Before potted peony, dig out the seedlings to dry for 1-2 days, so that the roots lose water and become soft, which is convenient for pruning and planting.

5. Cultivation process

Before cultivation: before planting, the flowerpot should be placed in the pool to absorb enough water, and the peony seedlings should be shaped and pruned to make the above ground and underground parts balanced, beautiful and generous and convenient for cultivation and management. First, cut off the withered branches, leaves and overlong roots, and disinfect the roots with 1% copper sulfate solution for 5-10 minutes, and then put the seedlings in the middle of the basin for filling and planting, compacting the soil by hand until it is no longer filled along the edge of the basin.

Cultivation: when planting, first put a tile in the drainage hole at the bottom of the basin to prevent soil leakage, and then cover it with 2mi 5cm thick pebbles or waste brown rope, which is easy to drain.

After cultivation: after the potted plant, the potted surface can be equipped with Taihu Lake stone, quartz stone, bamboo shoot stone and peony plant, which not only increases the beauty of potted peony, makes the potted surface emerald, full of vitality, but also plays a role in moisturizing and heat insulation.

6. Watering in time

The water holding capacity of potted plants is limited and must be watered in time. After cutting, it should be watered once, and after that, the soil should be watered every 3 to 4 days in order to keep the soil moist. When summer is dry, boil water early in the morning or at night, and it is not necessary to water it in autumn as long as it is not too dry. Watering before and during flowering can be done once a day.

7. Rational fertilization

Topdressing can start from the spring of the following year, using sesame, peanuts and bean cake blisters after fermentation. Application should be mixed with water, fertilizer and water should be applied twice a week during the growing period; after flower fade, it is appropriate to raise flowers and apply light fertilizer or foliar fertilizer, and there is no topdressing during winter dormancy.

8. Shading and drainage

In the hot summer period, the potted peony can be moved to the seedling shed for shade, or it can be buried in the soil to prevent heat and cool down, and keep good drainage and ventilation. Spray water on branches and leaves and around it every day when there is no rain, increase air humidity, ensure water supply during peony flower bud differentiation, pay attention to drainage in rainy season, and pour flowerpots on cloudy and rainy days to prevent stagnant water in the pots.

9. Shaping and pruning

In order to improve the ventilation and light transmission conditions of peony and concentrate nutrients, shaping and pruning should also be carried out after defoliation in autumn and winter. Cut off dense branches, such as parallel branches, cross, introverted and pest techniques, etc., to keep the plant in a beautiful shape.

10. Overwintering treatment

In late autumn and early winter, potted herbs can be buried in the soil, with branches exposed on the ground and protected by grass or choked soil to survive the winter. Others put the flowerpot directly into the cellar for the winter, remove the mulch at the beginning of the next spring, move it out of the kiln, put it in a ventilated and sunny place, and strengthen the management of fertilizer and water.

11. Place of placement

Peony likes light, likes high dryness, and should be placed in a place with sunny ventilation and sufficient light.
