Donkey is a herbivorous animal, resistant to roughage, strong resistance, easy to raise, fast reproduction, small food intake, strong disease resistance, good management (either stocking or captive). Donkey body is a treasure, donkey meat has a high nutritional value and medicinal value, with the characteristics of lean meat, less fat, fat contains high content of unsaturated fatty acids, has the effect of tonifying blood and qi, and the meat is delicate and delicious, it is a health food, quite favored by consumers, known as "dragon meat in the sky, underground donkey meat" laudatory name. Donkey whip is beneficial to the kidney and strengthens the tendons, mainly for impotence, soreness and softness of muscles, bone tuberculosis, osteomyelitis, hyperemia and other diseases; donkey skin is called Ejiao (for Chinese traditional Chinese medicine). It is composed of gelatin, bone collagen hydrolysate and sulfur, calcium, hydrolysis to produce lysine, arginine and methionine and other amino acids, which has the effect of tonifying blood and nourishing yin, moistening dryness and hemostasis. Can improve the balance of calcium in the body, promote the absorption of calcium, as well as the role of adjuvant treatment of cancer.

1 Scientific feeding and management

In the artificial breeding of donkeys, donkey houses should meet the requirements of ventilation and dryness, hygiene and cleanliness, warm in winter and cool in summer. It is best to choose leeward, sunny, dry, warm and cool houses, which can be designed as semi-enclosed houses. Meat donkeys are generally raised by shed feeding, and feeding and other work are carried out in the donkey shed. Intensive meat donkeys are fattened, and it is better to raise donkeys in stables. The general stable can protect the rain from the rain and the wind from the down. There should be food troughs in the enclosure, and each donkey should have enough food space for 60~80cm. Between adult donkeys, a strong fence is set up according to the distance of the feeding position to prevent them from harassing each other. A playground should be set up outside the donkey house so that the donkey can roll or move freely on the playground. The area of the playground is about twice the area of the donkey house. In order to prevent the disease of meat donkeys, it is necessary to pay attention to and strengthen the daily management of donkey houses. The daily management of the donkey house is mainly to keep the donkey house and playground clean and disinfect regularly. The disinfectant solution generally uses 2% fiery alkali and 1purl 130 Yikang disinfectant, and the two solutions are used alternately. During disinfection, the disinfectant can be sprayed directly on the floor and wall of the donkey house as well as the sports ground outside the house, once a week.

2 do a good job in the management of fattening period

Meat donkeys should be raised in grooves according to their age, body condition, male and female, strength and no grazing, so as to reduce feed consumption and facilitate rapid fattening. The fattening process of meat donkey can be divided into three stages: adaptation period, fattening stage and fattening stage, so the fattening period of meat donkey should be managed well according to the fattening process.

2.1 Management of adaptation period

The donkeys purchased should be dewormed first, and then reared in slots according to sex and weight. For newborn donkeys, they were fed gruel made from corn, wheat and millet at the age of 15, with a little sugar (sugar can not be fed too much, sugar is usually used as temptation). Concentrate feeding starts from feeding 10g per day, and then increases gradually. When feeding, pay attention to less feeding frequently, drink enough water, the right amount of salt.

2.2 Management of the weight gain period

The feed of adult donkey is the same as that of adaptation period. The daily concentrate intake of young donkeys started from 100ml / d to 200g / d, and increased from 500 g / d to 1000g / d after 2 months of age. At the age of 9 months, concentrate feeding can reach 3.0~3.5kg. The whole fattening period consumes concentrate 500kg. If the cottonseed is fried yellow or cooked until expanded and cracked, and each donkey is fed 1000g a day, the fattening effect is better.

2.3 Management of fattening period

The fattening period is 2-3 months, which mainly promotes the fullness of donkey flesh and fat deposition. In addition to the above Japanese cuisine, the following fattening methods can also be taken: ① each donkey dissolves 100g of white sugar or 150g brown sugar in warm water every day and let the donkey drink for 10 days. ② each donkey was fed with 250g lard, 860g fresh leek and 10g salt once a day for 7 days. ③ fried the cottonseed until it expanded and cracked. Each donkey was fed 1000g a day for 15 days. Adding appropriate amount of zinc in the fattening process can prevent depilation and skin diseases. Donkeys must be fed regularly and quantitatively. They should be fed four times a day in the morning, in the middle, in the evening and at night. They can be fed once more during the day in spring and summer, and once less during the day in autumn and winter, but they must be fed once at night.

(3) do well the breeding environment and disease prevention.

Like mules and horses, donkeys are prone to infectious anemia, gangrene and tetanus. Intensive breeding of meat donkeys should adhere to the principle of "combination of prevention and control, prevention first", pay attention to environmental hygiene and prevent the occurrence of epidemic diseases. In order to raise meat donkeys well, we should pay attention to the following points: when ① meat donkeys leave the ring in the trough, they should be allowed to drink enough clean water, and it is strictly forbidden to drink contaminated or dirty water. ② does a good job in the hygiene of the feeding house, leaving no overnight feces in the stables, and the trough and water tank should be cleaned and disinfected regularly. The stables should be built away from the village to avoid being infected by the epidemic. Every time the ③ donkey goes into or out of the ring, especially after the end of the service, let him roll several times happily and brush one by one. This is not only conducive to skin cleaning, but also promote blood circulation, strengthen physiological function, and improve physical health. ④ often observes that once the donkey is found to be in a state of discomfort or diet, it should be treated by a veterinarian immediately. Don't be careless and miss the opportunity to ensure the health of the donkey. When setting up a food barrier, the ⑤ should be as strong as possible, so as to avoid accidental injuries caused by biting and collision between male and female stables, resulting in tetanus.
