Talk about planting Dendrobium on balcony

It is the middle of May, the most exuberant season for Dendrobium. The Dendrobium flowers on the balcony of the home are blooming one after another, which is very beautiful.

There are two planting methods for raising Dendrobium on the balcony. One is to use bark board planting, that is, using moss or water platform to tie Dendrobium to a whole piece of bark or wood, and the other is to use pots, plant bark, peanut shell, chestnut shell, shavings, sawdust and other loose and breathable materials.

It is easy to grow Dendrobium on the balcony. Pay attention to the following points. It is difficult to raise and die.

First, Dendrobium likes half-yin and half-yang environment, can not be directly exposed to the sun, generally put on the east balcony is best. If it is the south balcony with better light, it is best to hang the board plant in the position of the balcony. It can also be put under a large green plant. Several pots of my potted Dendrobium are placed under the big pot of dragon's blood orchid, which scatters the sun a little in the morning.

Second, Dendrobium plants should be loose and breathable on the one hand and moist on the other, which is the same as orchids. Because Dendrobium is mostly rooted in gas. Board planting, depending on the weather, spray water appropriately according to the dry and wet condition of moss or water moss. In the case of potted plants, the moisturizing of the value-preserving plant material is fine. Most of my potted plants are planted with fermented bark and goldstone. Orchids are also planted in this plant, and some pots use shavings, peanut shells and broken tiles. This kind of plant material can be watered at will, as long as it is not watered several times a day. Keep the plant moist but not damp, the stagnant water should not be too serious. I personally like to mix some fermented rice water in the water and apply this thin fertilizer 1-2 times a week during the peak growing season.

Third, it is actually a matter of humidity and temperature. In hot summer and cold winter, we should pay attention to control humidity and temperature. It's easy to talk about summer. Just spray more water and keep it humid. In winter, most of Dendrobium enter the dormant period and will have yellow leaves and fallen leaves, so it is time to control the water. Some varieties are not cold-tolerant, so we should pay attention to entering Dendrobium into the house.

Fourth, Dendrobium is also a kind of Orchidaceae, and some Dendrobium also have Orchid paste. Be careful not to touch it, or it will easily fall off. Like the drumstick below, the water dripping on the flower stem is orchid ointment, also known as life dew. Boss Zhu likes to lick the dew of life.
