Another bumper harvest of late rice in Xiangzhou County, Guangxi

Recently, Xiangzhou County organized more than 10 experts from agriculture and quality supervision to measure the yield of thousands of mu of super rice demonstration models in Luoxiu Town. The results show that the average yield of super rice is 700 kg per mu, equivalent to 546 kg / mu of dry grain, which is more than 140 kg higher than the average yield per mu in the county.

In order to increase grain production and ensure food security, the Bureau of Agriculture of Xiangzhou County regards grain production as an important work. Under the circumstances of shortage of funds, the bureau raised nearly 100000 yuan to set up a demonstration model for the high yield of thousands of mu of super rice in Luoxiu Town. By adopting the methods of unified sowing and seedling raising, unified field management, unified fertilization and spraying, the masses easily mastered a whole set of high-yield cultivation techniques of super rice. And radiation drives the construction of more than 200,000 mu of high-yielding paddy fields in the county.

Due to the availability of technical training, advanced and practical techniques such as soil testing and formula fertilization, reasonable close planting, and comprehensive control of diseases and insect pests have been widely used. 220000 mu of late rice in the county is growing well and gradually maturing, and the grain output is expected to reach 66400 tons in the second half of the year.
