Qinghai Golmud City planting 34,000 mu wolfberry
The planting area of Chinese wolfberry in Golmud has reached 34000 mu this year, accounting for more than half of the city's total arable land. Why does this new city located in the Qaidam Basin vigorously promote dry farming represented by Chinese wolfberry in the development of agriculture?
To build a large-scale industrial city represented by salt lake chemical industry, oil and gas chemical industry and black and non-ferrous metal smelting and a modern regional central city, Golmud, in order to achieve this set goal, there must be sufficient water resources as a guarantee. Although Golmud, which is located in the Gobi desert, has Golmud River, Narengler River and other water systems, due to years of development, the utilization of the Golmud River has reached saturation, and the development of the Nalenggler River, which is as far away as 110 kilometers away, has not yet been established, and the groundwater level has also dropped to a warning line.
60, 000 mu of farmland is "thirsty", nearly 70, 000 mu of artificial forest belt needs to be moisturized, 270000 citizens need to draw water, and the rapid development of large-scale industry and circular economy even need a lot of water!
Where does the water come from? Golmud agricultural production began with the land reclamation in the 1960s, and then some farmers were transferred from the arid mountainous areas and reservoir areas in the eastern part of our province in the form of emigration and adjustment of Zhuang. at present, the agricultural population of the city is about 40,000, with more than 50,000 mu of arable land. Although the agricultural output value of the city is only 1x132 of the industrial output value, due to the basic use of flood irrigation, agricultural irrigation accounts for 54% of the currently developed water, while industrial water accounts for only 35.4%. According to the Golmud industry and circular economy planning, industrial water consumption will soon exceed 40%. To solve the problem of rational allocation of water resources is directly related to the overall situation of the development of circular economy in Qaidam.
To safeguard the interests of farmers and maintain the stability of agricultural production, but also to speed up the pace of industrialization and promote the development of circular economy, decision-makers in Golmud focus their attention on water-saving agriculture.
However, the development of water-saving agriculture is not an easy task. Chaidamu farmland is irrigated almost entirely by flood irrigation, and the water-saving drip irrigation method is expensive and difficult to popularize at the moment, so Golmud decision-makers proceed from reality. The goal of developing water-saving agriculture is to promote the cultivation of Chinese wolfberry with economic value and very drought tolerance. The development of this cash crop can be described as killing many birds with one stone: improving agricultural planting efficiency and increasing farmers' income; reducing the use of water for farmland irrigation to set aside enough water for the development of Chaidamu circular economy; and reducing farming links. It is conducive to soil and water conservation and ecological health of the oasis.
In 2007, Golmud introduced fine Chinese wolfberry seedlings from Ningxia, cultivated them meticulously by means of science and technology and popularized them in the city's rural areas. 27000 mu were planted that year, and 34000 mu have been planted in the city this year.
Han Guoyi, a farmer in Dagle Township, told reporters that the original water consumption for farming was large, and watering became a big problem in case of drought. Chinese wolfberry is drought-resistant, easy to serve, can be stored, and can be sold at a good price. The year before last, his family planted 35 mu, but last year these saplings bore fruit. More than 100 jin of dried fruit was harvested per mu, and a total of more than 60,000 yuan was sold. Coupled with the government subsidy for planting Chinese wolfberry, his family steadily earned nearly 80,000 yuan. "look at the growth of Chinese wolfberry this year, the income must be higher than last year!" Han Guoyi said confidently.
Popularizing the planting of Chinese wolfberry in a large area has created a new train of thought for the development of Golmud water-saving agriculture, opened up new channels for increasing farmers' income, and ensured the development of industrial production and circular economy. More importantly, through the timely adjustment of the agricultural industrial structure and the purposeful development of Chinese wolfberry planting, the vast number of cadres in the city have a better understanding of the essence of the scientific concept of development. it has laid a good theoretical and practical foundation for the healthy and sustainable development of Golmud circular economy.

Chinese wolfberry is a perennial deciduous shrub, its fruit is a valuable nourishing medicine, sweet taste, mild medicine, with the effect of nourishing liver and kidney and improving eyesight. Geermu City is located in the southern margin of Qaidam Basin, the soil is mainly gray-brown desert soil, meadow saline soil, swamp soil, etc., the soil saline-alkali content is high. In terms of climate, although the winter is cold and long, the summer is warm, the sunshine is abundant, and the natural conditions are unique. Lycium barbarum is also a kind of economic shrub which is tolerant to drought, salt and alkali and likes light, which is especially suitable for large-scale popularization and planting in water-deficient areas.
According to the identification, the wolfberry produced in Golmud has full granules, thick meat, bright color, high sugar content, sweet taste, high nutrients needed by the human body and bioactive ingredients with physiological function regulation. The content of flavonoids is about 30% higher than that in other producing areas, and the high-quality big fruit accounts for more than 70%. It is one of the best Chinese wolfberry in China at present.
