Secondly, the vegetables planted on the water surface account for only 30% of the water surface of the whole pond, so as to ensure the nutrient supply of the pond water and the normal growth of fish and shrimp in the water. At present, the breeding base has 600 mu of shrimp ponds and 100 mu of fish ponds, and the cultivation of vegetables on the surface has reached 200 mu. The yield of aquatic leafy vegetables is about 1200 kg per mu and at least 6000 kg of fresh vegetables in a season. The yield of shrimp is 500kg per mu and that of fish is 1000 kg per mu. At present, this planting and breeding model is being demonstrated and promoted in more than 300,000 mu of ponds in the city.
