Popularizing fine varieties of eggplant in Longmen and planting more than 1000 mu

It is understood that under the guidance of agricultural technical cadres, Pan Xuehui experimented with excellent vegetable varieties "Huayu No.2 eggplant" and "Guangfeng Red eggplant" at South China Agricultural University for two years to achieve high yield.

According to statistics, Pan Xuehui planted 1.1mu of "Huayu No.2 eggplant" last year, sold 4708 kg of eggplant and produced 4280 kg per mu, planted "Guangfeng red eggplant" 0.8mu, sold 3330 kg of eggplant, and produced 4162.5 kg per mu, and the yield per mu was two to three times higher than that of ordinary eggplant.

Pan Xuehui told reporters that because of the good quality of eggplant, merchants from Tanshui, Zengcheng, and Shenzhen would give priority to buying eggplant every time they went to the county supply and marketing market, and the transaction price was 20 to 40 cents higher than that of ordinary varieties per kilogram.

According to the person in charge of the seed unit of the county agricultural technology extension center, the average yield of eggplant varieties (combinations) is only 1,000 to 1500 kilograms per mu, and the average income of eggplant per mu is 2000 to 3000 yuan, while Pan Xuehui's average income per mu of eggplant is more than 8000 yuan.

It is understood that "Huayu No.2 eggplant" and "Guangfeng Red eggplant" are new varieties of vegetables introduced by the County Agricultural Technology extension Center from South China Agricultural University in recent years, of which "Huayu No.2 eggplant" has been promoted to more than 1000 mu in the county. It has been planted in Wucun Village, Longtian Town and Wangbin Village.
