Chen Daoyou, a villager of Xinhe Village, Xinqiao Town, Jingjiang, has transferred 18 mu of low-lying marshland to cultivate lobster in the Yangtze River levee of the village, with an annual income of 8000 yuan per mu, achieving better economic benefits.

In Xinhe Village, Xinqiao Town, at the mention of Chen Daoyou, everyone gave a thumbs up and was impressed by his entrepreneurial spirit. Chen Daoyou, 50 years old, belongs to the third group of people in Xinhe Village, Xinqiao Town. When it comes to Chen Daoyou's life experience, it is not quite smooth. He worked as a farmer in housework, worked in a factory, helped people raise fish, worked as a temp in the post office, and always earned a meagre income. In 2005, when the bad news came, he suffered from esophageal cancer and took a rest at home after the operation. Later, in order to make a living, I went to the riverside fence farm in the village to help while resting. In the eyes of ordinary people, a 50-year-old cancer patient can no longer stand troubles, but Chen Daoyou is a man who can't calm down. In the neighboring village, people in Shanghai contract ponds to raise crabs and lobsters, and they earn a lot of money. This touched Chen Daoyou a lot, and he began to think about raising lobsters. Through the understanding of the market, the price of lobster has risen sharply in the past two years, many times higher than in previous years. And he found that it doesn't take much physical effort to raise lobster, which is more suitable for older people. So he decided to raise lobster, but it was unanimously opposed by his family, of course, because of his body. But his family finally failed to stop him. In early 2008, he transferred 18 acres of low-lying marshland in the Yangtze River embankment of his village, raised lobster, and began his 50-year-old entrepreneurial journey.

In terms of breeding species, Chen Daoyou chose the well-known Xuyi lobster, which has good color and delicious taste. In addition, Chen Daoyou's lobster is raised on the Yangtze River with good water quality and no pollution, so it is favored by consumers. Now more than 30 jin of lobster can be sold every day, the price per jin is about 20 yuan, and the daily sales are more than 600 yuan. Chen Daoyou's lobster began to appear on the market at the beginning of this year, and the 50, 000 invested in the early stage has been basically recovered. According to Chen Daoyou's estimation, the net profit of lobster farming is about 8000 yuan per mu, and his annual net income can reach more than 100,000 yuan. Because of the good benefits, two of his relatives also gave up low-paying jobs to help him.

Chen Daoyou's lobster farming is going very smoothly. He has raised fish for others for many years and accumulated some experience in aquaculture. In addition, he is good at learning, looking for information and research everywhere, and often goes to Xuyi for on-the-spot investigation and study, so his lobster is basically not sick, and there is no loss in this respect. Next to Chen Daoyou's lobster pond, there is a large area of low-lying marshland. Chen Daoyou plans to gradually expand the lobster farming area to 100 mu in recent years.
