"if I hadn't made up my mind to 'steal' my family's passbook and take out more than 100,000 yuan saved by my wife to build a mushroom plantation, I wouldn't have become this' mushroom king'!" One day in mid-March, the reporter came along the winding mountain road to an abandoned military air-raid shelter more than 40 kilometers away from the county seat of Ningxiang, next to Hu Wenzhong's painstaking mushroom plantation. Since 1999, Hu Wenzhong has been working in Shenzhen, Changsha and other places. He has held more than a dozen jobs. Last year, he was laid off because of layoffs in his company and returned to Datunying Township, Ningxiang County.

Having been out there for nearly 10 years, he is determined to make a career in his hometown. He had learned to grow mushrooms before. after some market research, he was determined to set up a mushroom plantation, which was located in an abandoned military air-raid shelter in Shuangyupu Town, more than 60 kilometers away from home, and planned to invest more than 100,000 yuan in the first phase.

As soon as the family heard that they were going to plant mushrooms so far away, they did not understand: "where can't we grow mushrooms? we have to go so far away in the ravines."

Hu Wenzhong explained: "the air-raid shelter is warm in winter and cool in summer. Mushrooms can be planted all year round. Mushrooms are not only of high yield, but also of good quality."

Later, when he heard that he was going to invest so much money, his wife, who worked outside, firmly quit: "you can grow mushrooms, don't spread the stall too big, just invest 10,000 to 20,000 yuan, so as not to lose all the hard money earned by working."

Seeing that his wife's work was difficult to do, in April last year, Hu Wenzhong withdrew more than 100,000 yuan from the bank that the couple had saved by working outside the country for many years, and invested it all in the construction of the mushroom plantation.

During the construction, in order to make the limited funds play their due role, Hu Wenzhong broke every penny into two halves. During the day, he built roads and lines, prepared materials and cultured bacteria at night. For a whole month, he paved cement roads and wires in that air-raid shelter that had been abandoned for many years, and built a mushroom planting greenhouse of nearly 100 square meters.

In the early morning of May 18, when Hu Wenzhong's first batch of fresh mushrooms was snapped up by vegetable farmers in Shuangyupu Town, he shed tears of joy and excitement. As the mushrooms are fresh and of good quality, Hu Wenzhong's mushrooms are becoming more and more famous. Mushroom wholesalers in Ningxiang, Changsha and other places come to the door and ask for long-term supply. Hu Wenzhong made an additional investment of more than 100,000 yuan while the iron was hot, expanded the mushroom planting greenhouse to more than 1000 square meters, recruited more than 10 local migrant workers and farmers who returned home, stepped up production, and the daily output soared from more than 50 kilograms to more than 500kg. from July last year to February this year, a total of more than 50 tons of fresh mushrooms were produced, with an output value of more than 200,000 yuan. He soon became a well-known "mushroom king."

In February this year, Hu Wenzhong went to the market and met a mushroom wholesaler at the Mawangdui vegetable Wholesale Market in Changsha. The two sides hit it off: the wholesaler underwrote all Hu Wenzhong's fresh mushrooms. There is only one condition: Hu Wenzhong will produce fresh mushrooms for processing and packaging.

Without saying a word, Hu Wenzhong withdrew the nearly 100000 yuan he earned in nearly a year when he returned home and began to order packaging line equipment, build freezers, and expand reproduction. Someone jokingly said, "you didn't 'steal' this money from home, did you?" Some people even asked Hu Wenzhong a question after listening to Hu Wenzhong's story: "at that time, you 'stole' all the only more than 100,000 yuan in your family and invested it in the construction of a mushroom plantation. what if you failed?
