Luo Shaoquan: bamboo basket weaves the road to wealth in Shibantan Town, Chengdu City

In Shibantan Town, Xindu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, there is a well-known bamboo formation. As the Chengdu-Chongqing railway runs through the town of Shibantan, convenient transportation allows the local rich vegetables to be sold continuously all over the country. Vegetables need to be packed before loading. This kind of "bag" is the "bamboo basket" woven by local farmers with yellow bamboo.

In the early 1980s, Luo Shaoquan, who lived in Group 11 of Majia Village, Shibantan Town, saw the huge market of "bamboo baskets" and set up a bamboo formation with several villagers. From October to the end of February of next year, the 25-member bamboo weaving team will be busy nervously and orderly under the "greenhouse" near Luo Shao's family, and in such a short period of four months, this bamboo formation will be able to weave nearly 40,000 bamboo baskets.

In Luo Shaoquan's bamboo formation, the author learned that most of the people are elderly farmers, not only from their own village, but also from neighboring villages and towns. For more than 20 years, bamboo weaving has not only given the local elderly villagers an opportunity to earn money, but also achieved Luo Shaoquan's small career.
