He is one of the founders of warm tropical fry species (tilapia, freshwater white pomfret) overwintering in Quzhou City. He is also the earliest person to breed sturgeon in Quzhou City. He is Wang Yiwen, president of Kecheng District Garden Sturgeon Professional Cooperative, a celebrity in Quzhou aquatic industry. Over the past 20 years, Wang Yiwen has embarked on the road of becoming rich by breeding tilapia, freshwater white pomfret and sturgeon, which has also driven the local people to increase their income and become the pioneer of aquaculture in our city.

The contracted fish farm lost 600,000 yuan

The 44-year-old Wang Yiwen is short, although only 151 centimeters tall, but in Quzhou aquatic industry is a well-known person. Local farmers who had dealt with him would give him a thumbs up and say,"He's short, but he's very good at raising fish." "I suffered a lot because I was short." August 21, in Wang Yiwen's sturgeon farm, he told reporters about entrepreneurial experience. From primary school to high school, Wang Yiwen's academic performance has been among the best. "I graduated from Qu No. 2 Middle School in 1983. The college entrance examination was already online, but due to my height, I wasn't accepted." The next year, Wang Yiwen chose to reread, the result of the college entrance examination score more than 30 points, also because of height, was finally admitted by Zhejiang Fisheries College.

In 1986, Wang Yiwen graduated from college and was assigned to Quzhou State-owned Fish Farm. Within a few years of working, Wang Yiwen, an outstanding student at the Fisheries College, became a director when he was only 28 years old. "After I became the head of the farm, in 1995, the Chen family branch of the fish farm contracted to others. Because there was no one to contract, I had to contract it myself." Wang Yiwen recalled that at that time, everyone thought very good, originally contracted to others a year only pay twenty or thirty thousand rent, because he is the field leader, from the perspective of fish farm income generation, he contracted rent is 100,000 yuan. I thought raising fry could make a lot of money, but I didn't expect that all fry died this year because of water pollution, with a loss of 600,000 yuan. "This is the first time in my life that I have suffered a major setback." Wang Yiwen felt great pressure to owe a debt. If these losses are not recovered, the fish farm is in danger of disbanding.

Warm running water fish farming brings rich villagers

Sometimes people really want a little spirit, Wang Yiwen decided to fall from where to get up, he took the initiative to bear the loss, asked the superior department to leave without pay for three years, vowed to repay the debt. With such a force, Wang Yiwen embarked on the road of keeping fish in warm water. In 1996, Wang Yiwen borrowed 30,000 yuan from relatives to use the cooling water of Juhua Thermal Power Plant in Chenjia Village, Yuanhuayuan Township, and introduced it to fish ponds through channels to cultivate tilapia and freshwater pomfret through winter. A year of hard work, Wang Yiwen's tilapia, freshwater white pomfret, freshwater pearl spot sold 80,000 yuan, net profit of 50,000 yuan after cost.

Wang Yiwen said, At the beginning of warm water fish farming area only 8 acres, Now has expanded to 60 acres, Sales year by year more than a year, All sold to Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Zhejiang all over. The use of warm running water fish not only let him pay off debts, but also make him a famous "fish king" in our city. See the use of warm running water fish can make money, many Chenjia village villagers also learn to raise tilapia, freshwater white pomfret. As soon as farmers encounter breeding technical problems, Wang Yiwen teaches them without reservation. Lei Zhenliang, a villager, began to raise tilapia in 1998. Now there are seven or eight mu fish ponds, with an annual net income of more than 100,000 yuan. Over the past few years, Wang Yiwen has led more than 10 farmers in Chenjia Village to become rich through warm running water fish farming.

Failure to raise rainbow trout in cold water, change to raise sturgeon to become rich

In 2002, Wang Yiwen built a fishing ground in Gangyao Village, Huayuan Street, Kecheng District, and began to breed cold water fish by using high-quality streams of Wuxi River. "In the beginning, rainbow trout were raised. However, due to the high water temperature in June and July, hundreds of thousands of rainbow trout died." Wang Yiwen said, Rainbow trout is very difficult to raise, It requires the highest water temperature below 22℃, Can fishing ground summer water temperature below 28℃, Generally around 25℃. Wang Yiwen, who is not afraid of failure, went to Fangshan sturgeon breeding base of Beijing Academy of Fishery Sciences for investigation. He found that rare sturgeon has the advantages of large individual size, fast growth, strong adaptability and few diseases. Moreover, sturgeon belongs to sub-cold water fish. As long as the water temperature in summer is kept below 28℃, large-scale death will not occur generally. "I went there twice. In 2004, I converted about 10 rainbow trout breeding ponds into sturgeon breeding grounds and began to try to raise sturgeon." After that, he hired four sturgeon breeding technicians from Sichuan and Hubei to jointly raise sturgeon in the form of shares. "In June of that year, we raised 6000 sturgeons about 10 cm in size, Siberian sturgeon, hybrid sturgeon and Amur sturgeon, each of which accounted for 2000." Wang Yiwen said that after a year and a half of feeding, it was found that hybrid sturgeon and Siberian sturgeon were more suitable for the water quality and climate environment of our city. "These sturgeon grew to 0.65 kilograms and began to be supplied to the market. They sold for 50 yuan per kilogram, a total of 200,000 yuan." Successful sturgeon farming, Wang Yiwen confidence is more sufficient. Drive nearby farmers also raise sturgeon to become rich, in 2007 he started sturgeon fry breeding. Carefully cultivated, that year he sold 400,000 sturgeon seedlings at a price of 4 yuan to 5 yuan per tail.
