Li Yundong earns more than 2000 a month by raising yellow powder insects.
In March this year, relying on the Agricultural Science and Technology Park, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, adopted the model of "district-school cooperation" to establish the city's first college student entrepreneurship park to support college students to start their own businesses.
During the summer vacation, Li Yundong went to Leshan, Zigong, Chengdu, Mianyang and other places to inspect the breeding of Tenebrio Molitor, investigate the market sales of Tenebrio Molitor, and learn the business model of large farmers. Li Yundong is a forest resources protection and recreation (eco-tourism) major student of Sichuan Agricultural University. He has great ambitions to carry out ecological industry chain culture on the basis of raising insects, and to turn it into ecological farm music when it develops to a certain scale. the breeding process of Tenebrio Molitor will be provided to tourists as a visiting project, and finally Tenebrio Molitor breeding will be built into an ecological brand.

Seek to start a business in exploration
In an experimental class, Li Yundong ate the teacher's fried bugs and felt good. Maybe insect farming will be a promising industry, he thought. Since then, he often went to the college's Tenebrio Molitor breeding laboratory to ask teachers about the techniques of Tenebrio Molitor breeding, and began to try to raise them. After investigating the market situation in Ya'an and Chengdu, Li Yundong and his friends set up an insect breeding base.
In March this year, Ya'an City, relying on the Agricultural Science and Technology Park, adopted the model of "district-school cooperation" to establish the city's first college student entrepreneurship park to support college students to start their own businesses. After Li Yundong got the news, he decided to settle in the Entrepreneurship Park, grow the yellow powder bug, and find seven friends to form an entrepreneurial team.
With the teacher's technical support and matchmaking, Li Yundong used the money he earned as a driving school agent as principal and borrowed 1500 yuan from his parents to start his Tenebrio Molitor breeding.
At the beginning of breeding, they encountered a lot of technical problems. Due to improper feeding methods, the temperature for the reproduction and growth of Tenebrio Molitor was not well controlled, and many insects died. "after picking up the dead bug for two days, it hurts my heart." Li Yundong brought the dead yellow powder bug back to the school to consult the teacher to investigate the cause of death of the yellow powder bug and study the methods of breeding. A month later, they successfully mastered the breeding technology of Tenebrio Molitor by artificially changing the environmental conditions.
Li Yundong said that in the process of starting a business, the teacher gave them a lot of support. As the park is some distance from the school, they usually go there every other day. "my major is a relatively practical major. With the help of my teacher, starting a business basically does not increase the burden on my schoolwork."
"now we can earn about 2500 yuan a month." Li Yundong said that now they still belong to small-scale farming and do not have the conditions to transport yellow powder insects on their own. He wants to apply for start-up loans for college students in his senior year to form his own sales channel.
Li Yundong is confident about the market prospect of Tenebrio Molitor. Tenebrio Molitor can be exported after deep processing, can also be used as the basis of ecological breeding, and can also set up a breeding company in Chengdu to develop some studios to be rented to urban children to satisfy their curiosity about breeding.
More than 30 people from 11 teams participated in the start-up of the park
In early March this year, Yucheng District Party Committee, District Government and Sichuan Agricultural University jointly established Ya'an College Student Entrepreneurship Park, which covers an area of more than 400 mu, laying the foundation for Ya'an to promote the entrepreneurship of 100 college graduates.
According to Li Kun, a staff member of Yucheng District Entrepreneurship Park, 11 teams have entered the park, with more than 30 entrepreneurial college students, mainly from colleges and universities such as Sichuan Agricultural University, elegant Vocational College, and Sichuan Institute for nationalities. Entrepreneurial projects include electronic software, high-tech seedling cultivation, small animal breeding, and so on.
Zhong Xueqin, deputy secretary of the Yucheng District League and District CPC Committee, said that with the strong support of the government for college students to start a business, college students are now very enthusiastic about starting a business, and as relevant departments, they will certainly give them the greatest support in terms of hardware and software.
