In Gugang Village, Zhaokai Town, Linchuan District, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, a young man in his early 30s has become a household name for starting a business by raising American frogs. He is Zhou Zhipeng.

Influenced by his father, Zhou Zhipeng has been familiar with aquaculture since he was a child. After years of experience in aquaculture, Zhou Zhipeng and his father developed a formula of Chinese herbal medicine to breed frogs. They were pleasantly surprised to find that this method made the survival rate of young frogs more than 95%, and the adult frogs could grow to 1.5 kilograms. He became the first person in the city to use Chinese herbal medicine to cultivate American frogs. At present, he has an annual net income of more than 300,000 yuan and fixed assets of more than 2 million yuan. What makes Zhou Zhipeng even more happy is that in mid-May this year, the Chinese herbal medicine culture formula they independently developed also won the gold medal of the Hong Kong Expo.

Familiar with aquaculture since childhood

"my success now depends on my father's help." Zhou Zhipeng said. In 1995, Zhou Zhipeng's father began to try to raise bullfrogs. Under the influence of his father, Zhou Zhipeng fell in love with aquaculture from an early age. After graduating from high school, Zhou Zhipeng helped at his father's farm. A few years later, Zhou Zhipeng found that his father's bullfrog farm was just a small fuss, and it was difficult to form a scale. As a result, Zhou Zhipeng proposed to his father that he wanted to attend a correspondence class at Jiangxi Agricultural University to learn some practical breeding techniques. After learning about his son's idea, the father gladly agreed.

"at first I wanted to raise bullfrogs, but there was nothing to worry about. I have the capital, and I don't have to worry about the market. The only thing I worry about is how to introduce high-quality frogs. " Zhou Peishun told reporters that the traditional breeding methods make the cost too high and the profit space is also limited.

In the summer of 2005, by chance, Zhou Zhipeng heard that many farmers in Jiangsu and Zhejiang raised American frogs, which had good economic benefits, so he immediately rushed to Jiangsu to learn the skills of raising American frogs. Zhou Zhipeng began to cultivate American frogs.

The formula won the gold medal of the Hong Kong Expo

"American frog farming has the advantages of fast growth, strong cold resistance and easy management. it is not only large, delicate and delicious, but also has high nutritional and economic value." Zhou Zhipeng said that when he first introduced American frogs, he was full of confidence and prepared for a big fight. However, in the course of breeding, Zhou Zhipeng was surprised to find that most of the farmed American frogs became listless because they were not satisfied with soil and water, most of the frogs had diarrhea, and some frogs with poor adaptability began to die. When they saw this, Zhou Zhipeng and his father were really frightened. A few months later, Zhou Zhipeng found that more than 30% of the American frogs on his farm had died.

In order to find drugs to prevent and cure the intestines of frogs, Zhou Zhipeng bought a lot of books about raising frogs. When Zhou Zhipeng learned from the book that Chinese herbal medicine could purify the water, he was so excited that he immediately told his father the good news. With his father's years of breeding experience, Zhou Zhipeng and his father jointly developed a Chinese herbal medicine that can prevent frog intestinal diseases and purify water quality, which has improved the survival rate and growth rate of American frogs. The way of ecological farming has changed from traditional terrestrial farming to non-terrestrial farming.

After the news spread, Zhou Zhipeng successively received more than 40 people from professional farmers in Yichun, Shangrao, Guangchang and other places. In 2005, Zhou Zhipeng wrote a scientific research article entitled "Research and Popularization of healthy Frog breeding Technology in the United States", which was recognized by experts from the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangxi Province. Experts agree that the scientific research results have reached the leading level in China, which is conducive to promoting the industrialization of frog farming in the United States, and plays a good exemplary role in promoting special aquaculture. In mid-May this year, Zhou Zhipeng and his father developed this Chinese herbal medicine formula for breeding American frogs, which also won the gold medal of the Hong Kong Expo.

Invest a lot of money to create "farm music"

"at present, the whole farm has more than 40 ponds, respectively raising bullfrog, soft-shelled turtle, rice field eel and so on, covering an area of more than 40 mu." Zhou Zhipeng said that as the supply of frogs in the United States falls short of demand, he plans to expand the breeding area to 50 mu, and it is estimated that 130000 pairs of frogs can be bred each year, with 20 million young frogs and 15000 kilograms of frogs per mu. Zhou Zhipeng said: more than 1 million yuan is being invested in new aquaculture studios, pool renovation projects, and planting farm dishes, preparing to fully implement the computer management model, and actively building the farm into a comprehensive "farm fun" play project. Zhou Zhipeng said that after several hard work, he has tasted the sweetness of starting a business. In fact, success is as important as opportunity.
