In the early morning of June 11, the golden sun filled Nanyi Lake, and the egrets perched among the reeds sang happily. In the middle of the lake, a girl rocked a wooden boat and began a working day with the fishermen. Nanyi Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The villagers living along the lake have made a living by fishing for generations. On the bank of this beautiful Nanyi Lake, a female college student is pursuing a different kind of life.

Zhang Qin works with the fishermen.

The dream of youth

Zhang Qin, 23, was born in Hubin Village, Feili Township, Langxi County, on the banks of Nanyi Lake. In June 2008, after graduating from Wuhu Institute of Education as a computer network major, she applied everywhere for a job and sent her resumes to job fairs and talent exchange centers, but they were nowhere to be heard.

Zhang Qin had to return to his hometown. Looking at Nanyi Lake, where she grew up, the unhappiness of job-hunting was gradually washed away, and at the same time, a beautiful idea began to stir in her heart.

She solemnly said to her father, "Dad, transfer the water you want to return to me. I want to engage in aquaculture." My father was surprised and thought it was whimsical. It turned out that Zhang Qin's father contracted more than 2000 mu of water in Nanyi Lake to raise hairy crabs and fish. Due to the perennial upsurge of the lake and other reasons, it leads to the disease and death of hairy crabs. He is preparing to cancel the contract as soon as the contract period arrives. Besides, to train a daughter to go to college is to let her daughter jump out of the "farm door". At present, however, my daughter has to go back to the countryside to engage in farming, which is no good! But unable to beat his daughter's repeated demands, the father had to make a "pact" with her: she temporarily raised hairy crabs and fish on more than 2000 mu of water, and if he didn't "lose all his money" at the end of the year, he would hand over the water to his daughter, otherwise the idea would be cut off forever and continue to look for a job in the city.

Come and go in the wind and rain

From then on, Zhang Qin, like several fishermen hired, ate and drank on the boat. Every day, she took a small boat into the lake with the fishermen, followed the fishermen to the aquaculture base to observe the water quality, measured the water temperature, observed how the fishermen put bait according to the density of the fish, and recorded in detail the techniques taught to her by the fishermen. Zhang Qin feeds the fish during the day, observes the growth of the fish, humbly asks the breeding workers for advice, and works with them to find out the causes of the disease of hairy crabs. At night, he looks up "good prescriptions" for hairy crabs on the Internet and reads books about aquaculture. She also invited professional and technical personnel to give on-site guidance to learn experience from professional crab farmers. A fisherman told her from years of experience: "Fish farming requires clean water." As a result, Zhang Qin and the fishermen sailed to far away places to bring water plants to improve the water quality, and scientifically allocated bait to give hairy crabs "strong tendons and strong bones."... Zhang Qin was deeply affected by the diligence, tenacity and intelligence of the fishermen. With her unremitting efforts, the crab disease was finally brought under control, and Zhang Qin smiled with relief.

Zhang Qin regarded the 10 fishermen employed as his uncles and uncles. In addition to paying them 1000 yuan a month, he also took out personal accident insurance for them. She goes to the city to buy food every week and cooks it for her uncle and uncle fisherman. In her spare time, she mended fishing nets with the workers and carried them with the workers when buying feed. Although it is hard and tiring to deal with lakes and waves all day, Zhang Qin is very happy because she is doing what she wants to do. However, an unexpected difficulty suddenly arises.

One day in October last year, a rainstorm broke the perimeter of the breeding area. If it is not blocked in time, the consequences will be unimaginable. Zhang Qin put on his raincoat and went down to the lake with the fisherman. Seeing the strong wind and high waves, the fishermen advised her not to go. But Zhang Qin resolutely picked up bamboo poles and fishing nets and rowed his boat to the breeding area in the center of the lake in the face of the wind and waves. In the face of the wind and waves, she and the fishermen loaded soil and dived to stop the leak. After more than an hour of hard fighting, the 5-meter-long hole was finally blocked. At this time, Zhang Qin's clothes were so wet that she couldn't tell whether it was the lake or the sweat. She had no strength and was helped ashore by a fisherman.

After more than four months of ups and downs, four months of getting up early and feeling dark, Zhang Qin finally reaped hope and joy. Because of its thin shell, yellow paste, tender meat and delicious taste, Zhang Qin's hairy crabs are welcomed by customers in Changzhou and other places and become "tight goods". At the end of 2008, Zhang Qin helped his father recover the cost of 200000 yuan and earned nearly 200000 yuan.

Zhang Qin's unexpected "report card" showed the father his daughter's love and ability for special aquaculture. As a result, he gave up the idea of letting his daughter go back to the city and gave her more than 2000 mu of water at ease.

At this time, a bigger plan was brewing in Zhang Qin's mind.
