Recently, a new generation of well-bred pigs in the mountainous area of northeast Guangdong, named "antler ginseng pig", is widely favored by farmers and consumers in Heyuan city. This kind of pig, which is specially crossbred and bred mainly with mountain Chinese herbal medicine additives, is a "new breed" of pigs jointly raised and developed by two ancient old people in Zijin County of the city this year.

According to Zhang Yueren, a 77-year-old retired professor who studied in the Soviet Union in the 1950s and a villager of Zhongba Town, Zijin County, in order to breed pollution-free and pure ecological pigs, since last winter, he agreed with the local "barefoot doctor" who is nearly 70 years old and Cai Xiangyuan, who is known as the "little grass fairy", decided to select a place in Chuankeng Village, Linjiang Town, Zijin County, to change the conventional harmful feed and feeding methods. The purpose of this study is to study the breeding of "antler ginseng pig" with Chinese herbal medicine additive as the main feed. Zhang Yueren told reporters that when they raised the "blue wild boar" produced by the cross between wild boar and Zijin Lantang pig to about 50 kilograms, they mixed the Chinese herbal medicine additive prepared by Cai Xiangyuan into the self-made feed and continued to raise it to 75 kilograms to 100 kilograms. Finally, it became a "antler ginseng pig" and sold it.

After months of breeding and breeding, Zhang Yueren and Cai Xiangyuan recently successfully bred the first batch of "antler ginseng pigs" and put them on the market. These "antler ginseng pigs", which taste fresh and tender, sweet and crisp, and double the price of ordinary pigs, are in short supply in the market and are favored and snapped up by local consumers and pig farmers.
