Tong Runsheng, a tea farmer in Tongjia Village, Shouchang Town, keeps abreast of the market and actively develops new varieties of high-quality tea gardens to increase production and income. This year, he put into production 43 new varieties of Longjing, the price of Longjing tea is as high as 800 yuan per kilogram, and the benefit is six or seven times higher than that of traditional products. In the spring of 2006, Tong Runsheng adopted asexual seed breeding technology to cultivate a number of high-quality new variety Longjing 43 tea seedlings and planted four mu of new tea plantations. After three years of careful cultivation and management, this year's tea buds are thick and many, dark green color. Starting from mid-March to the end of mid-April, the processed Longjing tea was welcomed by customers as soon as it was put on the market, the price was as high as 800 yuan per kilogram, and demand fell short of supply.

Tong Runsheng said that planting new varieties of tea not only has high prices and good benefits, but also sells very well. On the contrary, some traditional tea products are gradually snubbed by the market and can not participate in the market competition at all. Only by following the market closely and planting and processing products that meet the needs of the market can we increase production and income.
