Citizens can eat locally farmed sea cucumbers! The reporter learned yesterday that the sea cucumbers cultivated by Fuqing Hongfeng Taihai treasures breeding company have been fully listed on the market. Brother Fuqing Yang Lixiong returned to his hometown to start a business, studied painstakingly for three years, and finally became the first person to successfully breed sea cucumbers in Fuzhou.

Yesterday, the reporter came to the base of Fuqing Hongfeng Taihai treasures breeding company located in Niutouwei, Niufeng Village, Shapu Town, but the walls of one by one neatly arranged square sea cucumber culture ponds were covered with seaweed. "these seaweeds are a nutritious meal for sea cucumbers." Yang Lixiong introduced.

A 150-gram sea cucumber is worth more than 30 yuan.

Yang Lixiong fished a sea cucumber from the pond and weighed about 150 grams (pictured). He said that this batch of sea cucumbers are growing well, and the average individual growth of sea cucumbers has grown from 50 grams to more than 150 grams. They have been listed one after another and are mainly sold to hotels in Fuzhou, Xiamen and other places. The market prospect is very broad. "the price of sea cucumbers is high. I can sell this one for more than 30 yuan." Yang Lixiong said.

Talking about the course of starting his own business, Yang Lixiong said with a smile that he was the first person who dared to eat "crabs." He told reporters that he used to be a salesman of Fuyao Glass Industry Group Industry Co., Ltd. before 2005, he often traveled to some factories and construction sites in Fuzhou. "because of poor connections and other factors, I didn't work smoothly as a salesman, and I was so tired that I could barely make ends meet." Yang Lixiong recalled.

In 2005, I heard that my hometown began to develop Niutouwei Wharf. As a native of Niutouwei, Yang Lixiong knows very well that this area has a unique advantage in raising seafood. So he quit his job without hesitation and returned to his hometown to raise sea treasures such as abalone and sea cucumbers. At that time, many people were skeptical about his idea, because sea cucumber was a kind of aquatic product with high initial investment and high investment risk, and there was no precedent for successful sea cucumber culture in Fuzhou.

But Yang Lixiong didn't believe in evil, so he just did what he said. The biggest problem of cultivating sea cucumbers is the culture environment, technology, funds and so on. At the initial stage of trial cultivation, he invited aquatic experts from Dalian and other places to survey the waters of Xinghua Bay, Niutouwei, and the experts agreed that the area had excellent conditions for raising sea cucumbers, which further strengthened Yang Lixiong's confidence in breeding.

When the breeding conditions were available, Yang Lixiong modestly sought advice from successful farmers in Dalian, Qingdao and other places to learn aquaculture techniques. After continuous study, he finally mastered the method of breeding. In 2005, Yang Lixiong introduced seedlings from Dalian and invested 5 million yuan to raise abalone and sea cucumbers.

Where there's a will, there's a way. In 2007, Yang Lixiong successfully raised abalone. In May last year, the company's Mu Yu Island base and Niutouwei base began to cultivate sea cucumbers on a trial basis; in early May this year, the trial cultivation was successful and sea cucumbers were listed one after another.

Shapu Town Party Committee Secretary Gao Yong said that the successful trial cultivation of sea cucumbers has filled the gap in the artificial cultivation of this sea precious product in Fuzhou. In the future, sea cucumber culture will become a new economic growth point of marine culture in Shapu town. In the next step, the town will further support the development of enterprises, build a sales platform for enterprises, and make locally produced sea cucumbers enter the major restaurants in our city.
