Xiang Yuande, male, from Hanshou County, Hunan Province, was born in April 1958 and is now 49 years old. He earnestly studied pearl farming technology through distance education, modestly consulted experts inside and outside the province, and exchanged views with local counterparts, which soon made his breeding technology reach a new and higher level. Through repeated practice and bold exploration, and on the basis of constantly summing up experience and learning for reference, he innovated the techniques of young clam breeding, young clam cultivation, rare clam raising, disease prevention and scientific management, which greatly improved the survival rate, pearl growth rate and high quality rate of pearl clams. 12 third-year-old clams successively created the miracle of high yield and high quality rate of 500 grams of beads, and produced super pearls with a diameter of more than 13 millimeters. Xiang Yuande, with his painstaking research on freshwater pearl culture technology, has the highest culture level and output benefit in the province, and is the leader in the country. He has not only become a technical authority in the industry, but also been fully affirmed by the relevant departments at a higher level. In September 2004, he presided over the drafting and completion of the "Technical Standard for Freshwater Seedless Pearl Culture" issued by the Department of Agriculture of Hunan Province. the implementation of this standard played an important role in improving the technical level of pearl culture.

Under his leadership, Hanshou County Pearl Industry Association actively cooperated with distance education and complemented each other's advantages, which effectively promoted the development of the county's pearl industry and the in-depth development of distance teaching activities. The association actively supports the cause of distance education, with a total operating funds of more than 11000 yuan for village-level terminal sites, and more than 20, 000 yuan for distance teaching activities. The association has actively joined forces with distance education to establish learning and training bases in 25 village-level distance education sites in 10 major pearl-producing villages and towns, such as Yangtao Lake, Yawang Lake, Zhoukou, canned mouth, and so on, making full use of distance education equipment and advanced teaching means. organize farmers and party members to learn pearl farming techniques. Since 2004, Xiang Yuande has come to the distant education site of Nanchan Village seven times to teach pearl farming techniques to the party members and masses of the village, and set up a breeding demonstration base in Nanqun Village. Under the guidance and demonstration to Yuande, the village has developed 2000 mu of pearl farming, and more than 100 farmers have embarked on the road to prosperity. In recent years, the association has held three large-scale technical training courses throughout the county, training more than 2000 farmers; 60 technical lectures have been held in the fishing grounds in Xiaxiang villages, with an audience of more than 5000 people; and more than 15000 copies of technical materials have been distributed free of charge. In order to provide technical services at home, Yuande made use of the distance education network to provide online guidance to farmers, and personally went to several key farming townships to give lectures on technology, and took the initiative to solve technical problems on the spot. According to incomplete statistics, over the past six years, more than 30,000 yuan has been provided to Yuande to support farmers in need. At present, Hanshou's pearl annual output value of more than 100 million yuan, per capita income of pearl farmers increased by more than 200 yuan, nearly 10,000 pearl farmers have embarked on the road to wealth.

In 2004, he invested 15 million yuan in Yuande and established his first company, Hunan Xiangbalao Pearl Co., Ltd., and launched Hanshou's first local pearl brand-"eight Pearl". Perhaps it is his reputation in the pearl industry, coupled with the excellent quality of Hanshou pearls and the exquisite processing technology, that his company's pearl jewelry is famous in Hunan, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang in just a few months. and best-selling Hong Kong, the United States and other places. At the end of 2004, his company was recognized as a city-level leading enterprise by Changde municipal government.
