Li Zheng, 23, who lives in Longtouwan Village, Wandian Town, Zengdu District, is the chairman of Zhengxin Rabbit raising Professional Cooperative. Although he is young, he has been dealing with rabbits for seven years. Because of raising rabbits, he was once a typical "black sheep" in the village; because of raising rabbits, he is now called by the villagers as a "capable descendant". Yesterday, the reporter interviewed this young man who had a hard time starting a business.

I like to raise small animals. I can't pull back nine cows.

For various reasons, Li Zheng dropped out before graduating from junior high school. Li Zheng, who did not want to go out to work and liked small animals since childhood, became interested in breeding. He successively bought quails, bamboo rats and American king pigeons to raise them, which cost a lot of money and effort, but all ended in failure.

His parents were angry when they saw him "killing his life" again and again. Under the pressure of his family, at the age of 16, Li Zheng followed his parents to Shanghai to work in a stainless steel processing shop run by his uncle. Only a month later, Li Zheng quietly "slipped" home. He thought, rabbits are grass-eating things, "cheap", it should be easier to raise. As a result, the six rabbits tried to raise only jumped for more than a week and died again.

A young man who does not go out to earn money, but hides at home all day long, this is not a "black sheep"! The comments of the villagers made Li Zheng almost ashamed to meet others. A series of blows, let him finally understand a truth: without technology, even grass-eating things can not be raised. In 2004, 18-year-old Li Zheng took the initiative to go out-- he wanted to study as a teacher in Sichuan Province.

Learn from the "Rabbit King" and get the true sutra.

Li Zhengbai's master, Ren Xuping, is the director of "Xuping Rabbit Farm" in Jinyuan Town, Dayi County, Sichuan Province. At that time, Ren Xuping was offering rabbit training courses across the country, each for 10 days. In order to learn "real kung fu", Li Zheng learned three consecutive sessions in the rabbit training class. After that, he stayed in the rabbit farm to work for free for three months, and finally mastered the knack of raising rabbits.

This year, he bought back 40 breeding rabbits from Sichuan and started a real business. At that time, his parents and brother both worked in a stainless steel processing shop in Shanghai, and he took care of the 12 mu responsible field in the family. He was engraved with that kind of tiredness.

Hard work will be rewarded. Li Zheng's rabbits are becoming more and more prosperous. They can produce 3000 rabbits a year and earn tens of thousands of yuan. In 2007, Li Zheng's parents returned home to help him set up a standardized rabbit farm.

Set up a cooperative to lead everyone to get rich

With the establishment of the rabbit farm, Li Zheng's horizons have been broadened. In addition to raising ordinary meat rabbits, he also successfully tried to raise "experimental rabbits" and "pet rabbits". He also raised a large number of rabbit varieties, including "California Rabbit", "New Zealand Rabbit", "Japanese Big ear White", "Rex Rabbit" and so on.

In May 2008, with the support of the government of Wandian Town, Zengdu District and the departments of industry and commerce, Li Zheng registered Zhengxin rabbit raising professional cooperative. At present, the cooperative has developed 17 members with 20 breeding rabbits and more than 800 cages a year. He explains rabbit raising knowledge, provides technical support and organizes sales for members and other rabbit farmers free of charge.

As the saying goes, "birds are like birds and beasts are like rabbits." Li Zheng said that with the improvement of people's living standards, rabbit food with the functions of health care, beauty and longevity will have a big market.

Li Zheng is not satisfied with his small success in his career. He said that at present, rabbit farming in Suizhou is not on a large scale, rabbit sales are still in a state of "retail sales", and the main profits are made by middlemen. Next, he wants to further develop membership, expand the scale of farming, open rabbit meat stores, and go on rabbit meat deep processing projects, so that more farmers can get rich by raising rabbits.
